OK, last one This is just a low-profile setup with 2 mags and a radio directly attached to my flak. What is nice about this, is that I could quickly throw the TAG Gladiator chest rig over my flak and bring the ass. This operation was mostly vehicle-borne, so it made more sense to be able to ride comfortably and scale-up/down as needed.

The only pics I have from 2005 Iraq are all these puny shitty images, so if any of you wizards out there can hook it up with a re-size, that would be radical...for me and the internet! Anyway, loaded-for-bear patrol pic: My flak carried my Ka-Bar and 40mm for my M203 and (as previously mentioned) my mags, frags, canteens, and IFAK are on an Alice belt/suspender LBE worn over the flak. This worked great. My primary reason for going to the Alice setup was how well it carried and distributed the weight of my fighting gear for doing 4+ hours foot patrols thru a hostile city with 120+ degree temps. Also shown, my beloved SMAW and thermobaric round. Assault pack was loaded with C4 and linear breaching charges. Again, any help with the pics would be great: Another bad pic from that era, showing the Alice gear better while I am having too good a time fucking up some haji's house: Yo' Dougles, can you send them directly to mickeydown@yahoo.com?

Well...ask and you shall receive. The SKD Pig does look very nice, my budget for the plates and everything is $500. Tony posted a $160 deal for the plates somewhere (if I can find it again) and they had side plates at the company he threw up as well where I stuck it all in the cart and it added up to $220. So (at $329 for the SKD Pig) if I add a few bucks to that fund here in a sec I can get that SKD Pig and the plates and that'll take care of that. Still gotta get mag pouches though. The way I figure it is if I'm putting a whole bunch of rifle mags on (LA Riots and I'ma Korean merchant, Katrina and Ima Cajun homeowner having to go back in to see my looted house or Ferguson and Ima White guy and I don't want my house burnt down) I might want rifle plates. I had a job as an armored car/armed security guard for awhile and because I was working EMS in a shit area of Dallas I have 3 sets of pistol rated vests (all out of date now, but they've tested the same stuff I have 10 & 15 years out of date and it actually worked fine), but no rifle plates and no chest rig. So I figured I'd kill it in one fell swoop. What do you think of the Mayflower APC? www.skdtac.com/Plate-Carriers-s/15309.htmOr the Shellback Banshee? www.skdtac.com/Shellback-Banshee-Plate-Carrier-p/shb.125.htmEither one of those means I could actually get the mag pouches and IFAK pouch right then. I keep on almost pulling the trigger on the Banshee, but then something keeps on popping up (like a tree falling on my truck and I gotta pay the deductible).

The plates are from AR500Armor.com, super affordable for what you get. I'm sure any of those PC options would work well. I've only read good things about the Pig and Mayflower. I will say the Banshee is super cheap, though. I don't think my entire rig came out to much more than $300, I don't have side plates though.
Im now leaning toward taking the cummerbund off, running two double AR pouches on my front left, two pistol mag pouches kangaroo'd onto the AR pouches PALS, then a small BOK in the remaining space where the furthest right magazine used to be. Nothing on the back, maybe a small bladder, no admin. Id keep it like this, so to put it on there's no Velcro just one fastex buckle, for HD and classes. If the Apocalypse ever really happens (never going to) Ill throw on my cummerbund and all my Gecko45 gear and get down to bidnizz.

This is the best I could do. HD filters didn't help, nor did color fix. Sorry, any bigger and they look like Mario Nintendo from the 80's.

Well...Shucks! I don't know where any of those pics from 2005 came from, the only copies I have are on photobucket that were taken off my MySpace page (yes, MySpace) years ago. Ho-hum, maybe someday technology will bring them back around. Thanks for trying, homie!

Yessir, that is one Grade A, USA born and bred BAMF. Just a bored kid from Ohio with pent-up destructive energy and a beef with Islam who played with too many GI Joes...

Somewhat ashamed to put anything here after the OM photodump, but hey, its the internets. So, here's a pic of my new-ish chest rig. Its the AK rig from Strike Hard Gear. 4 mags, 3 pockets across the inside of the rig, simple and easy. I went with the "H" harness, thinking it would work better at keeping the straps off my neck. So far, so good. Added a double pistol mag, and a small pouch for flashlight and multitool. I'll probably attach a TQ to the outside of the maxpedition pouch. And thats it. Keeping this as lowpro as I can. The main inner pocket will hold more mags if I so choose (nope) and the side pockets are just barely large enough for midsize radio (working on a few options there) All in all, it seems like a quality piece of kit. Now I just need to take it to the range and try it.

IIIA soft armor with second chance insert. I've shot more than a few of these and they stop all handgun and most shot gun. Rifle? Nope. Side cut coverage. Maxped 3 mag holder. Pistol pouches are 1 Glock 17 mag and one Surefire G3. I'm adding a individual officers IFK. Glock 19 in a Hazard holster in admin pouch. New "HOLY CRAP! ZOMBIE BIKER PITBULLZ!" Rig. Condor chest rig*, condor 4 cell, HSGI double feeder pouches, 2 Glock mags. Waiting on single pistol mag pouch for G3 light and Skinny Medic OPERATOR IFK. *Still hasn't burst into flames or given me EBOLI.
