To add to the thread 'psa has all my money' they have been taunting me with mag deals again. I succumbed to the 10 ets and 10 magpul g17 mags for $220. Damn near got the ets, magpul ARs, and magpul 60 RD for $259. I am shorter on pistol mags tho. I'm burning my credit card.

Well, pre election so far: PTR91 with the paddle mag and threaded barrel. FEG hi power. Finish is beat but internals are good. Bunch of glock 19 mags. Mossberg MVP Thunder Ranch edition. So more 91 mags. Bunch of optics. And a sage class.
More sage classes and ammo inbound.

Welp, Buds got some AR10-type lowers back in-stock, so I went ahead and ordered one. I have an Aero Precision 308 BCG and an 18" CL Criterion barrel from when I was thinking about building a light weight upper for my LMT 308....Guess I'll just go ahead and turn it into a whole other rifle.

I'm waiting on Mega Arms Short Frame Marten to hit. It should be the Mega Arms version of the DPMS Gen 2, light3er than the older style .308 AR's. Over all I've decided that a bench top sized CNC is in my future....to echo the hero of a long ago TV character, "I aim to misbehave".

I wonder how much "fun" those lighter weight, next gen AR10s are to shoot? An eight pound .223 rifle has around 4 ft/lbs of recoil and 6 fps of recoil velocity, while an eight pound .308 rifle has around 16 ft/lbs of recoil and 12 fps of recoil velocity.

Given that the election is just a couple weeks away I'm taking stock of what I've gotten over this past year. I think I did pretty well for the most part, but I'll see what you guys think.
Stuff I got this year in preparation for Hilli-geddon : •Traded for a PTR-91 •Bought an optic for the PTR-91 (SWFA 1-4x24 Tactical scope with illuminated reticle). •Bought a Chinese AK •Traded one AR (RRA Entry Tactical with a 1/9 inch twist barrel) for another AR (RRA NM A4 with a 1/8 inch twist barrel) that I always wanted. •Bought a Ron Brown leather 1907 sling for the RRA NM. •Ended up with a Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40 green Mil-Dot scope and Burris rings/mount in the trade for the RRA NM (might sell that one as I already have a Trijicon Accupoint and an ACOG on different rifles). That scope goes on the RRA NM, but I'm mostly using irons with that one. •Bought 2 Anderson lowers. •Bought a higher capacity 12 gauge semi-shotgun (Stoeger M3K - 10+1) •Bought a single stack 9 pistol that fits in my pocket that I never should have gotten rid of to begin with (Walther PPS M1). Also bought a second DeSantis pocket holster. •Bought an array of parts for a few different guns to keep them running. •Bought approximately 70+ full capacity mags for a variety of different guns. 32 H&K G3 mags, 14 Lancer 30 rd AR mags (10 thirties and 4 twenties), 19 Glock mags, 4 more Ruger 10/22 mags, 2 Walther PPS M1 mags and 3 Browning BDA mags. •Bought a TAG belt and web gear for M-16/AR mags and double stack pistol mags. •Bought .22LR everytime I found it. I had 12k rds of .22LR prior to this and I'm now up to 20k rds, so I bought roughly 8,000 rds. Mostly the new stuff is either Federal Auto-Match, CCI 'Choot em' and Winchester M-22. •Bought 2,100 rds of .223 Rem. •Bought 3,200 rds of 9mm. •Bought 800 rds of .40 and promptly shot 300 rds of it, so that means that I need at least another 500 rds of .40 S&W. That'll put me at 1000 rds of .40 FMJ total. •Bought 1,000 rds of 7.62x51 NATO FMJ and 200 rds of soft point. •Bought 1,000 rds of 12 gauge birdshot (#6) and 500 rds of buckshot (mostly 00) and slugs (1 oz foster slugs). •Bought a tan double rifle case from Midway. •Another Plano polymer rifle case came with one trade. •16 ammo cans. •1 military polymer 25mm rds case that I'm using as a Pelican case to protect optics that I take to the range.
•I squared away my first aid kits. I now have a decent supply of quick-clot and four tourniquets.
Stuff I said that I would get but that I haven't yet. Still going to be getting these items (In order) : •Top of the list - Level III soft body armor. Pretty sure once the commie bi0tch gets in office that the progressives will see that as their mandate to mess with everything, even when it's purely defensive. I'm buying this first off. •5-to-10 of those 30 rd Yugoslav AK mags that lock back on the last rd and then either a wooden blonde AK stock and grip or an ACE side folding stock and an Ergo grip •Moar .40 S&W ammo. (At least 500 rds of FMJ) •Moar 7.62x51 NATO/.308 ammo. (At least 500 rds) •A.R.M.S. rings for scope on PTR-91. Yes, that's right ... I bought a kickass scope for this rifle and haven't mounted it yet. I figured I'd be able to go back and get it as there's unlikely to be panic buying or legislation regarding scope rings. That's still something that I need to take care of. •Specter Gear sling ($35 to $40) for the PTR instead of that surplus German leather one that I have on there (I think that leather surplus sling was like $5 or $6, it works but it's a little too thin). •Cheek piece for PTR-91 stock (this one is a big maybe, the ARMS rings might be low enough where I don't need to get a cheek piece). •Three 12 gauge shotgun shell holders for 3-gun. •I need to get a Glock 17 holster that'll fit on that TAG battle belt. •Need to buy a spare 20" inch AR barrel, a couple AR bolts, a spare BCG (the BCG that was my spare got used on another build), some Glock pistol spare parts, some Stoeger M3000/M3K or Benelli parts (Benelli parts work in this gun, same design) and some Ruger 10/22 spare parts. •An A2 carry handle or a BUIS for the RRA A4 NM. The National Match sights are incredibly accurate, but they have to be used during the day time in good light. It's impossible to see these sights or the target in mediocre to poor light. So I need to get either a carry handle or a BUIS that I can swap out if need be. That's kind of why I haven't gotten rid of that Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40 scope that came with it in the trade, because with those NM sights in mediocre/poor light I can't see shit. So I'll wait until I buy a carry handle or a BUIS that can be swapped out and then sell that scope. •Two complete AR parts kits for the lowers that I bought my nephews.
This is where the list splits as the stuff below is not completely necessary •A longslide Glock of some sort. I keep going back and forth on which model and which caliber. At any rate so whether that's a G41, a G34, a G35 or a G17L I'll be getting a long slide Glock. •A truck pistol. Probably a Turkish CZ-75 Compact clone, a Taurus PT-111G2 like how Tony has +5 or 6 mags or a used Glock police trade-in (maybe a G22). This is a pistol that'll just permanently stay in my truck as something larger to compliment the Walther PPS I often carry or to arm a second person. When shit pops off its often in and around vehicles, so I might be able to grab a pistol carried in the truck as I always take out the pistol and have it in the pocket of my door for the journey - Also need to get a pistol safe and install it in my truck. •Would also like to get another Glock 19 4th Gen as my 2nd Generation G19 is looking pretty beat.
Stuff I said that I was going to get that I probably won't : •Futuristic battle worn AR (probably a stupid idea anyway, what difference does that kinda shit make?). •9mm AR (would be fun and maybe later on down the road I'll get one). •A 50 BMG rifle (our bank acct isn't large enough), ammo, scope and supporting gear. I might get a .338 Lapua bolt action or a 6.5 Creedmoor down the line. I'd like to become fairly proficient at long range shooting and imagine bolt action rifles are a ways down the list of what to ban for the statists.
--------------------------
So that's it. For good or bad that's what I did with this year. I think I could've gotten a bit more ammo and I might have resisted a couple trades that dropped in my lap and stuck completely to the list, but I think that I did alright for the most part.
The vast majority of my guns are completely squared away in case shit pops off, I have the support gear for those all set for the most part (which is something that I'm somewhat guilty of, leaving one project unfinished and then starting on another one), I have a shitload of ammo, a few vests (even though they're old), I have a good supply of full capacity mags (which is something that I was lacking in 1994) and I have an assortment of parts in case those become unavailable or the future legal purchase of that is banned.

Well, my 100Pmags shipped today. Also placed an order for twenty EAA Witness mags (17rnd) for 9mm in anticipation for getting a either a couple of 9mm slide/barrel assemblies or simply two more pistols.
After those slides come the .22LR conversion kits for them.

Not sure, but I'm also not too worried about it. What has me interested is the higher parts compatibility with AR15s and the new bolt design. If it's recoil is a bit too stout that should be easily rectified with a stronger action spring.

Took that Chinese AK out for the first time, the sights were off. Started out shooting at the 'X' printed on the target at 100 yards and was hitting low and to the left. Adjusted my aim to about where the red 'X' is drawn on the target to make sure it was the sights and not me and started hitting in the middle. So I adjusted them and got it right off the bat on the first attempt. My group size on the AK kinda sucked throughout though. The smaller holes in the head and in the tiny silhouette in the top left corner were with my penny shooting .22) rifle. Think the less than stellar groups is because of the ammo (Wolf) and because while wire folding stocks are great for storage and carrying in vehicles I don't believe that my head placement and cheek weld was consistent at all. So I'm either going to throw on a wood stock, like maybe some nice wood from Ironwood (*Click*), a folding stock from either ACE ( >>Link<<) or a Bonesteel folding stock ( >>Link<<). Played around with the elevation after I adjusted the sights to start hitting in the middle. Then I locked in and started trying to get better groups, but I didn't feel like my head placement was ever really in the same place if I looked up. This last one was the best group for the day with the AK. So I'll be getting another stock for it at the very least. Reliability was 100% throughout.

It's about that time...... Can you hit you're "x" wherever that may be?
One shot may be as important as where you can put 100 rounds.
Keep the faith, and I hope you can support the ideal of individual freedom over group think.

This was just a sight in and general familiarization. I've just bought a fair amount of stuff lately (PTR, Stoeger shotgun and this AK), so just getting used to it. Each gun to is a bit different.Keep the faith, and I hope you can support the ideal of individual freedom over group think. Absolutely. Pretty much the way I've always been. I'm not much on group-think.

I did the ACE folder on my SGL 21, but I went with BoneSteel/CNC Warrior folder on the Polish Beryl. I prefer the BoneSteel. Has a better lock-up (no wobble) and no need to cut off the tang....in case you ever wanted to try something else in the future.

Wasn't sure if anyone on here had a Bonesteel AK stock, was thinking maybe that it was somewhat obscure. Maybe it's not. I have a few things to get before that, but it's pretty high up on the list. ---- •5 Croat AK BHO mags •2nd to the top of the list - Level III soft body armor. Pretty sure once the commie bi0tch gets in that the progressives will see that as their mandate to mess with everything, even when it's purely defensive. •A.R.M.S. rings for scope on PTR-91 •Bonesteel AK folding stock & Cheek piece for Bonesteel AK stock (they're $5 to $10). •2 AR complete parts set. •AR slidefire stock (might be a bit stupid, but I've been wanting to try one unless someone on here tells me that they had one and that it's completely worthless). •Specter Gear sling for PTR instead of that surplus German leather one that I have on there (think it was like $5 or $6). •Cheek piece for PTR-91 stock (this one is a big maybe, the rings might be low enough where I don't need to get a cheek piece). ....(continued)... ----- My thinking being that I need more AK mags bad (those will go up in cost or get sold out immediately), a new vest (that'll almost certainly get banned for civilian purchase or severely regulated to the point where I won't be able to get one) and I need that scope I bought actually on the PTR. Supposedly there's a couple different ways to mount an ACE stock. One where the owner cuts off the tang and mounts the block/interface/hinge/mechanism inside the gun and one where they mount it outside, I was going to mount it outside. There was no way I was cutting the tang off, was going to mount it outside. That's a nice feature on the Bonesteel, it's not necessary to cut it off to make it operate/look a bit better. If for some reason I can't get a Bonesteel stock in a couple months I'll get a US made stock from K-Var or something.
