I don't have as much as Browning, I'm sitting on like 2500 pistol and 2500 223, but I do have components for about 5000 more so to me that's not bad plus the majority are good quality projectiles. Mind you everyone on this board would balk at my salary so I have to get creative and look for the best way to spend my gun money.
This is where reloading really helps but it takes a ton of time..I'm loading thousands on a single stage in short periods so you can imagine it's a lot of work.
The advantage is though is learning in detail each step. I won't pretend to understand the minutiae of headspace, pressure curves or burn rates but I do know how to make safe, reliable ammo. It's honestly fairly simple.
There are really only a few steps:
-Return fired case to factory dimensions/deprime -Prime case -Throw appropriate powder charge -Seat bullet
Each step is obviously more complex than that but that's the gist of it. I'm gonna work on my reloading tutorial this week.

That being said, I also have several years worth of ammo at my current rate. I should get more 22 since I have a suppressor on the way and will want to shoot the hell out of it when it breaks free... And we all know 22 is somehow the first to go. You know you can reload .22lr, right? Slow and boring, yes....but still possible. linkAnybody here consider a quality air rifle as a substitute for .22LR? If the intent of .22LR is for small game harvesting, small varmint control, and cheap practice ammo, wouldn't one of the higher-end air rifles out there work? I don't know much about BB and pellet guns, but it seems like there is probably something out there that would roughly match the capabilities of a .22 for that kind of use.

Ammo i just moved a good bit of assorted calibers. Guessitame numbers are 5K 5.56, 2K 9mm,2K .22 lr, 500 .38 spec 200 .357 mag ,150 12G buck, 500 assorted 12G. 250 assorted 20G. 100 or less of each in .45acp , 410 G, 45 lc , 22 shorts and mag. I have 2 air guns one is this www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Umarex_MORPH_3X_CO2_BB_Pistol_Rifle_Kit/3793/7276. It is fun to shoot in the back yard and i guess it could take a squirrel at 20 yards or less. Down side is it uses CO2 so when they run out so does the gun. Next is this www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Crosman_P1377_With_Shoulder_Stock_Brown/3607/6937. Multi pump so no need for air or CO2. I put a small scope on it and can get good till 30 yards when it trails off. It can take a squirrel at 20 plus yards and ,should be able to take a rabbit as well. I got some tube where i plan to lengthen the barrel if i can make stuff work right. On the site i linked to they sell .50 cal air rifles that use a bike pump to power them. I may guess at close range they can take a deer?

I've read about people taking nutria with air rifles so it can definitely be done.
I've been fiending a bit to get some little critters to try my handloads on but the game is different than it is down south. Not many vermin/pests except coyotes and I like canine type animals no need to kill them if they're not doing anything wrong IMO.
If you're a farmer having issues kill them all but don't think I can murder them for fun. Anytime I've killed in the past not for meat I didn't like it.
But I'm definitely gonna get a tag and try my 300blk on a deer soon hopefully. Lots of good bullets from the 110-130 range.

Dan,
You shoot a lot of rifle. That's awesome.
Take this for what it's worth.
SHOOT YOUR PISTOL MORE. Really. It's what you have with you 99.999999% of the time and should be an expert with it. I mean draws under 1s. Splits with good hits under 0.2s. Hit plates at 25m effortlessly. Be able to hit clays at 15 with ease. Really, it matters.
Sincerely,
Your internet gun buddy

I don't know much about BB and pellet guns, but it seems like there is probably something out there that would roughly match the capabilities of a .22 for that kind of use. During the last panic and it's difficulty in getting ammo I thought about getting a .22 or greater caliber air rifle and a semi pistol. 1) It's fun. 2) Airguns have come a long way as far as technology goes. They can take advantage of legal full auto and burst fire, being suppressed and they even have air powered shotguns. 3) The ammo (except for the shotgun wads) are incredibly inexpensive. 4) You can still get some practice in (marksmanship being a perishable skill). For the rifle I was thinking of a suppressed .22 Stoeger .22 suppressed ATAC (*Click*)----- For an air shotgun this is kind of a cool development. Air Venturi Wing Air-Shotgun www.pyramydair.com/blog/2015/09/air-venturi-wing-shot-review/www.airventuri.com/wingshotwww.airgundepot.com/air-venturi-wing-shot.html--- For the full auto air guns some of the best were the Russian ones. From what I understand those (Drozd and Blackbird) have been barred from importation.

Oh! me Too!
I own several air guns. I like break action the best but I have a pump that can do over 1200 fps with a 177 pellet. Wrecks squirrels. I want to step up to a silenced one.

I've been an air rifle advocate since I found the jig to make your own pellets. Tire weights can make 20 rounds or more. Edit: Linky nomad-pelletmaker.weebly.com/

At our last group shoot here on my backyard range, a couple of the fellas sighted-in new air rifles. Gray squirrels are a high dollar menace around here, so a lot of folks keep a pellet gun handy, especially those that live within the city limits.

I'm kinda sucking hind tit in the air rifle/air gun department. What I have right now is a .177 Chinese air rifle that's made in Shanghai that I bought for $20 about 10 years ago at a gun show. It works, but accuracy isn't all that great. I don't remember what type it is and there are no stamps on it other then it saying that it was made in Shanghai China. That's it, no other markings. It's also a bit loud for what it is. I remember looking it up one time and I remember that it was around 650 ft./s. That's kind of slow for a .177 air rifle, but hey ... I bought it for $20. What I'd like to get is this ... Benjamin Armada Combo - .177, .22 & .25 cal air rifle with integral suppressor (*Click for link*)That is a bit expensive for an air rifle for me as I'm still buying actual pistols, rifles and shotguns, but it is pretty cool.

What this guy did is pretty cool. He made his Chinese air rifle into a .177 black powder rifle that uses shotgun primers and a nail for a firing pin. Would also like to do this at some point.

At my final BOL, I have a Benjamin Trail Nitro Piston in .22 caliber and 4500 pellets. At my house I have a Crossman P1322 with 500 pellets.
Just have the BOL one sitting in a ZCORR bag (https://www.zcorrproducts.com/) good for 20ish years. Also my, soon to be, cached .22LR/.410 Rossi Matched Pair got the ZCORR bag treatment. Everything else in the cache (ammo, matches, knife, fire started, etc) got vacuum sealed in 7mil.
Ammo is about 500 .22LR and 250 .410 in mostly #5 with a handful of slugs.

Added 500 rds of ZQI 76.2 NATO to the 2016 ammo pile at the the front of the closet. Plus I bought a few ammo cans, both .50 cal steel cans ($12.83 each + tax at China-mart) and the Plano plastic ammo cans ($4.88 each + tax, which were also found at Walmart) that are about the same size as the .30 cal ammo cans. The ' Jan to Aug 2016 Ammo Pile Of Freedom' is slowly getting taller. It's like that game Jenga, only with ammo cans. Next up on the list are ... * Those A.R.M.S. QD rings for that SWFA 1-4 scope (probably medium height rings, gotta test it out at SWFA over that rear drum sight and make sure that it'll clear). * That Specter Gear - H&K Weapons System SOP Sling (*Click*)* A TacLatch Paddle Style Mag Release (*Click*) to make mag changes possible just using my support hand. * A Cherokee H&K-91/PTR Cheek Piece (*Click*) depending on what kind of cheek/chin weld I get after I mount that scope. * Level III Soft Body Armor (besides just being nice to have JIC shit pops off I've been kicking around the idea of getting a job as a guard on an armored transport to put cash in ATM machines). Buddy of mine got into that after he quit the ambulance company that we both worked at and he says its cake. Just do that until I'm done with school. * A two cell kydex ( Hazmat Holsterworks (*Click*) mag carrier and a one cell kydex mag pouch that clips inside the pocket ( Sneaky Pete's in the pocket single mag carrier (*Click*) for my Walther PPS 9mm M1. * A Kramer Horse-Hide #2 IWB holster for one of my BHP's (*Click*)* Been kind of kicking around the idea of getting a CZ P-07 midsize 9mm pistol and a few mags and a Century C39V2 7.62x39 (it's an AK and been getting good reviews from the Military Arms Channel and Rob Ski on the AK Operators Union). Or a Century C308 (the H&K-91 copy from Century that has a PTR receiver, G3 parts and Cetme sights) and a Tristar C-100 9mm (it's almost an exact copy of the CZ-75 Compact). I'd like to install a lock-box in my truck to keep both of them in there permanently, but I don't know how feasible that is. Maybe just a lock-box for the pistol. * A low cost Chi-Com Type 69 chest rig for .308/7.62x51 NATO mags. * Then for ammo I'd like to get another 1k rds of .223 Rem, 1k rds of 7.62 NATO, 500 rds of .40 S&W. If I get the AK then add another 1,000 rds of 7.62x39. * Also would like to do a Sims pistol class at Tac-Pro within the next 6 months. * Will also be getting a Fostech Echo Trigger (*Click*) trigger despite me crying about its price earlier. Will either put it in my Noveske or on the Apocalyptic-Futuristic Battle Damaged Red and Black AR that I have floating around in my mind. * Then need to finish the two AR's for two of my nephews within the next year. * Would then like to get an Auto folding knife at some point. ' Switchblades' have been legal in Texas for two years and I still haven't taken advantage of the change in the law. Would like to get either a Benchmade AFO or an Al Mar Auto S.E.R.E., it's more likely I'll just end up getting a Boker Kalashnikov or a Magnum to satisfy the urge to get an automatic knife. *Then last but not least I'd like to build one last AR for myself. Will have a Mega lower, a Vltor upper, a Noveske 18" inch barrel with a 1/8 twist, a double-sided AXTS Raptor charging handle, Troy H&K type flip up BUIS, a Troy Alpha rail, that Fostech Echo trigger (if not the Fostech then I'll buy/install a Chip McCormick flat match trigger and a Battle Arms short throw safety), a Vltor iMod or a MagPul UBR stock and topped with a Trijicon 1-6 Accupoint with a Green Triangle Post. Merge this one ... ... then the circular symbol effect from this one, but with a Tiwaz/Tyr rune instead ... ... and then add the futuristic looking red and black battle damaged weapon effect from this one ... ... I'll be somewhat happy if I manage to do all this. It's more of a 2-4 year plan on some of this. I mostly intend on finishing ever detail of my existing guns, finish up on the ammo storage and do a couple more classes before I buy anymore pistols or rifles.

<snip... a Tristar C-100 9mm (it's almost an exact copy of the CZ-75 Compact). At the risk of coming off like a fan boi, look at a Witness Compact in 9mm. Same price range for steel frames, and there are some poly lowers out there for less. It's also a clone of the CZ75, but in the post-2005 it brings tot he table the ability to take different slide/barrel assemblies in different calibers (9mm/.40/.38Super/10mm/.45ACP/.22lr). 999042 EAA 999042 Witness Polymer Compact 12+1 9mm 3.6"$278 EAA 999099 Witness Steel Compact 14+1 9mm 3.6" $500
