Those sound like good additions for sure, I should consider some extra precautions. Admittedly, I rely almost exclusively on my pistol, knife and situational awareness but some less lethal stuff in the vehicular unit could be a good thing. I think a pistol grip only 20ga under the seat/spare tire may have some validity here and would be handy in and around a vehicle. You're going to be engaging from spitting distance. Maybe even a Judge/Governor with birdshot as a GTFO my car gun so you can make room to evade (hopefully) without a homicide investigation following. Might be a good time to relegate your old pistol vests to the car and buy a couple new(er) IIIA for the houseThose are good ideas too. I have a vest where the carrier is in less than great shape, but where the panels are still fine. I've always hesitated to take the vests out except to the range because of the perception by the police that you're looking for trouble, but in this case they might not be doing me any good at home. I might also look around for a cheap as hell 20 ga. shotgun. Does anyone know if the folding stocks for Mossberg 500's fit across the board regardless of gauge?

I've always kept a small handheld spotlight in my vehicle. Came in handy one night when the dimmer switch went tits-up on my old truck, killing the headlights. Might be a cheap option if you got caught-up in something after dark and your headlights got busted-out.

It should fit, but where the stock mates to the receiver it will probably be a little thicker than the receiver. Being a lefty, I like the top tang safety on Mossbergs. But with pistol grip stocks, it can be kind of funky to manipulate. ETA: Maybe look for a Maverick 20 gauge...same Mossberg economy, but with a regular crossbolt safety instead of a top tang. www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/2084_37_1099/products_id/84515/Maverick+Arms+88+Youth+Pump+20ga+22%22+2.75%22+2Cap+Syn+Blk+Finish

Been looking at this Mossberg 500 Persuader 20 gauge over the years off and on. www.guns.com/review/gun-review-20-gauge-mossberg-500-persuader/ The eight-shot model is 39 inches long with a shorter stock. Ghost ring sights and a shorter stock with a shorter length of pull. The barrel comes in 18.5 inch and 20 inch variations. MSRP is $485 with a street price of around $450. That's pretty nice all around and I've thought about getting it for awhile, but it's more than I want to pay for an almost disposable shotgun. Found these two. Mossberg 12 gauge Maverick 18.5" barrel www.academy.com/shop/pdp/mossberg-maverick-88-security-12-gauge-pump-action-shotgun#repChildCatid=298704Mossberg 20 gauge with a 28" barrel. www.academy.com/shop/pdp/mossberg-maverick-88-20-gauge-26-all-purpose-pump-action-shotgun#repChildCatid=130356Last time I had a shotgun barrel bobbed to 18" and the bead sight put back on it was $20. So with tax and the barrel work I imagine the 20 gauge would be around $240-$250. Top folding stocks for the two Mavericks are $58 to $85. I think I'm going to see how things go. If I need to throw a shorter overall long gun in there I have the two folding stock AK's, that AR pistol and a couple shotguns. It's just that I don't have any folding stocks for the shotguns right now and I wouldn't want any of those in there long term due to the possibility of theft. I have a hidden place to stow it in there, but nothing is 100% foolproof.

Couple of things I'd like to suggest you consider..
As much as everyone knows pumps are very reliable there's still a risk of short stroking them, especially under stress and/or in the confines of a vehicle. Throw in the factor that you might not have full use of one hand/arm for some reason; injury, trying to push your car door open or conversely trying to pull it shut, pulling/pushing your child/spouse to a safer position, ect, ect, ect. I'd suggest looking at perhaps a used, no frills, reliable semi-auto shotgun.
Regarding the jumbo can of pepper spray, great idea but if it's legal in your area try picking up some CS grenades as well. One dropped out the window of your car should gain you a bit of room to drive out of the crowd.

Unfortunately CS gas grenades are illegal in Texas. The large fire extinguishers meant for defense against humans are also illegal, that's why I'm going to get Bear Spray ... You know, for when racist Bears block off the road and try to bash my window in, drag me out and hit me in the head with bricks fucking up the way I walk and speak. I'm officially joking, but that's seriously what's legal/illegal. Lots of people down here who are out hiking, walking, jogging and camping use bear spray for dogs that have been dumped and turned feral along with other hostile wildlife. ---- I hear you on the pump vs semi shotgun question. That's kind of why I went to semi's for the most part for clays around 2004 or '05, easier to hit with. You can focus on your current shot and your next shot without worrying about pumping. I currently have one single shot shotgun, two pumps and three semi's. One of those semi's (that Stoeger M3K) is also my home defense gun. I still occasionally shoot my pump action shotguns and I haven't short stroked a shotgun in a really long time, but we're talking about being under a great deal of stress, in possibly awkward shooting positions and possibly while wounded, so that makes semi's a lot easier and a little more ideal like you were saying. Only problem is that the one thing a pump has over a semi is price and I'd want pretty much any gun kept in my truck to be fairly cheap. I can get a reliable pump all day for $200, semi's are always at least twice that plus a hundred bucks. If anything pops off here I'll be swapping it out for an AK, 6 Mags total and a backpack. I dunno, maybe I'll take a look at some of those Turkish semi's.

Maybe a very high volume air-horn set to a very unpleasant frequency? Hard for them to stick around if their ears are bleeding.... link

Good thing dude didn't let go, his noggin woulda busted open like a grape.
So, to recap ...
1) Guy gets into an accident with someone else entirely, he stops to exchange insurance info.
2) Because he's White in a Black neighborhood he's automatically a 'Trump Whiteboy' (in this case they were actually correct and he did vote for Trump) so they decide to beat his ass and rob him.
3) They beat his ass screaming about voting for Trump, rob him and jack his car.
4) Now the guy still has injuries from getting his ass kicked but thankfully he's alive, he has no car, getting his wife to work safely in that neighborhood is a problem, he wants to move and basically dude's kinda screwed.
I wonder if the guys who beat and robbed him ever gave any thought to the idea that its incidents like this that probably led to Trump getting elected.
It's okay, Trump will still help reduce their competition for no-skill required jobs with illegal aliens by making green cards harder to get, but it's not like any of these cowardly thieves want a job anyway.
