Nice. Gonna have to check-out some of her other vids.
I'm curious, how many of y'all live in a city or county where the "summer of rage" may be an issue?

I could possibly see some riot or racial-type stuff going down in Mobile, AL, which is 25 miles to the west of me. But I rarely go over there (the last time I made the trip across the bay to Mobile was a good four months ago).
Maybe I'm viewing things through rose-colored glasses, but I can't see any stuff like that going down in my county (Baldwin)....but I guess there's always a first for everything.

There are some serious tools around here. I can see them getting aggressive if things look bad in other areas. You know, for street cred. Bunch of wannabe bikers too. Black bike week is always a massive fail of violence. With the rage, yeah, can't see it getting any better.

We have far more than our fair share of derelicts and low-level dirtbags, but most of them are too lazy to cause any serious trouble. When they do it's invariably of the dirtbag vs. dirtbag variety. Planning, follow-through, multi-party coordination, foresight... these are not the forte of our local white/black/brown trash. Things are probably pretty safe in my little hood.

Trying to predict where civil unrest is going to pop off next is tough in one sense as there are possible flash points scattered all over the entire U.S, but it's made easier in another. Ferguson, Oakland, Chicago, Berkeley, Cleveland, New York and Baltimore all have some things in common and it's not just the racial demographics. Much of the violent unrest in those cities was in areas that are best described as poverty stricken or in one of the birthplaces of radical leftist politics. Five of those seven cities are either known in their own right to be anti-2A/anti-self defense or are in States with shitty gun and self defense laws. Failed policies, high crime, unemployment and welfare dollars.
These aren't educated professionals taking to the streets to loot the local Foot Locker, burn the Quik Stop, chuck bricks or Molotov's at cops and generally thrash on their city. They have little to lose even if arrested, but there's often little chance of that since the police have often been forced to pull back by city and state officials and the rioters have been basically given a green light to do whatever they want.
Don't know if any further rioting will happen this summer, but I'm pretty sure that this isn't the end of the civil unrest over this issue because local, county and state LE agencies haven't been put under federal control yet. That seems like the end goal for whipping the mobs up to a frenzy, allowing them space to destroy by reigning law enforcement in and keeping them from doing their jobs. After all hell breaks loose that's when the talking heads, community leaders and politicians act like there's a disconnect between the Black community at large and every major Police and Sheriffs Department in America.
Due to the politicking after each of these riots, the White House-commissioned task force which did a study on the issue, the DOJ investigations, increased Federal oversight of various Police Dept's over the years after high profile supposed 'civil rights' cases, slanted media coverage and editorials, the calls for such action from the Black Caucus and Feminist organizations and so on, that seems to be the way they're headed. Don't know if it'll happen, but this administration is pushing in that direction.
I doubt seriously doubt that any major rioting will happen in Dallas, much less here in outlying suburbia and cow country. Texas cops aren't really known for taking much shit anyway and I don't think that the response from authorities here would be anything like we've seen in Baltimore, Oakland or Ferguson.
If rioting did happen in Dallas and the surrounding cities mostly we'd stick close to home. Monitor the news, talk to friends that are still in public safety, fill the bathtubs up with water, pull the vehicles into the garage, check all our emergency lighting and so on.

These is an area around here that universally is viewed as a very bad area because it is. It's the northern part of Columbia city. When you look at a map of crime in Columbia this area is a massive cluster of crime with a very wide range of crime. There is a nice women's college right in the middle of it. In their indoc they're told not to walk around off campus, definitely don't go out at night and only travel away from the campus by car. This area is more or less one mile from where I work down town.
This area always has concerned me. When the city was hot and heavy about reducing and managing the homeless pop. downtown was really cleaned up. There was a period when I never saw a homeless can compared to at least 30 just on my walk to work. Now, I have seen a sharp increase. There are several factors here but the economy is not supporting low end jobs in low income areas. That's sad.
I read a stat that said at least half the homeless pop were veterans in Columbia. I'm not attempting to malign anyone but I've seen a lot of young men who are angry and homeless milling about in large numbers at 5 am. I'm not saying it's 100% positive but historically that's a population that has in the past engaged in mass demostartions. Not happy about that.

Well a few years back North Charleston was the 6th highest homicide rate in the country. Of course it was limited to a "certain section" of North Charleston and not near me. There has been a few attempts to protest one thing or the other, but they seem to lack momentum in this area. We as an area, have it generally pretty well. Even when the North Charleston officer shot a civilian and was video taped, the outrage started, but then the video was evaluated and suddenly the facts got in the way of protests.
I also have planned routes to avoid certain areas as needed.

In the Oak Cliff section of Dallas (about 25 miles from here) the New Black Panthers, the Nation of Islam and the ' Huey P. Newton Gun Club' periodically gets together, yells ' Black Power' and parades around with guns in the street whenever they're pissed off about something that happened (usually in a different part of the country). They did that in Dallas for the Michael Brown protests, at the Capital Building in Austin for the Freddie Gray protests and have done armed patrols in Dallas. Newton Gun Club open carries outside Texas Capitol, chants ‘F*** the police’ (*Click*)Vice did a segment on them. www.vice.com/read/huey-does-dallas-0000552-v22n1The news usually reports that they have ' AR-15's', but on closer inspection they look like Hi Point carbines, Tapco'ed out SKS's, an AK, some pump shotguns and a bolt. Don't know what it is about domestic extremist groups of all kinds and shitty guns, but a x39 rd out of an SKS surrounded by cheap zytel would still ruin your whole day. Then there's the usual Blood and Crip Gangs who are usually too busy (slugging it out with the Mexican Gangs and each other, selling dope or getting arrested for all of the above or stealing liquid fabric softener) to bother protesting. Unless it's hit that point in the protest that is where they feel some immunity from the police to throw rocks/bricks and where they can start looting in the name of community grief over the shooting death of some dipshit who was just like them they usually don't join in. Greedy Grove Crips or Highland Hills Crips are the two primary gangs in that area. The police have arrested and imprisoned many of the key members, so they aren't as active as they used to be. dfwgangs.blogspot.com/2010/10/operation-greedy-grove.html?m=1
www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/ATF-Agent-Shot-in-Dallas-Serving-Warrant-102060063.htmlThen there are some ' Revolutionary Communists', assorted Anarchists, a radicalized Methodist Church congregation and Occupy Texas in Dallas and that's pretty much it as far as criminal and political groups that might potentially cause problems. They're pretty fragmented though and driving past the protests I've seen there weren't that many people out there.

Plenty of excellent reminders about the basics...
Some people spend all their money on guns, AMMO, boy toys, and think they're set...but, the one thing that stood out to me, that most preppers lack, is SKILL. They buy this, have that built, shoot this, and think they're ready for the end of the world...but, PRACTICAL application is key...
Will I buy another gun? Sure. But not until I have a large volume water filter (Berkely...I had been eyeing them for years, but this reminded me..)
Any ways, good viewing!

Great Video GM! I'm always...ALWAYS trying to stress the importance of water to people...I spent a year in Iraq, and years in California and South Carolina. Most won't "get it", because, well, they've never had to do with-out. I got my wife to start watching "The Island" with me (Monday nights at 10pm on NBC (IIRC)). It's a Bears Grylls get-up, BUT...the best part, he only narrates it, and is not part of the show (ha!). 15 Guys on an island for 30 days...3 machetes, 3 knives, and the shirt's on there back. 3 Days have passed, and two were already taken out by a lack of water...
Water, Water, Water...shelter, shelter, shelter...
*Mossberg Cruiser...NEWBS...LOL!

I just looked at my twitter feed and I'm seeing a lot of chatter about protests and counter-protests planned for there.
