None of this is worth worrying about. The big issue is Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are getting a divorce. Just keep y'alls heads up and persevere thru these hard and trying times.

Welp, now we have anti-democracy protests breaking out in several cities.... Five people were shot in Seattle, not sure yet if it was related to the rally there.

Looks like these violent "protests", or "benefits for the country" (as I've heard them called elsewhere) are going to be a national pastime.

Should've resulted in 6 ventilated Trayvons..absolutely ridiculous.
I hope Trump really puts the screws to the inner city with more LE funding.

Well....back to my Zimmerman/Ferguson/NY/Minneapolis/Baltimore/Oakland/Berkeley level vehicle preps that are well established.
Two pistols instead of one, two spare mags for the back-up and three for the main pistol on me and then extra loaded mags and ammo in the truck. The second pistol could also be for my wife. She'd shoot (especially if Jackson was even remotely in danger, she just has a mental thing about carrying one herself). Threw in the larger and better first aid kit, made sure that the tires and belts were all good (gotta replace the front left tire) and made sure that I have spare gas in the tool box that's sealed in a metal can so its not a fire hazard. Fix o flat, portable air compressor and tool kit were all checked. Also have a half case of water and some snacks for lil dude if we get stuck somewhere.
Probably going to get one of those fire extinguisher size pepper spray canisters. If it's a non-lethal threat its an obvious choice to use that instead of a pistol like say they're blocking us in. I have a couple smaller cans of pepper spray, but they don't put out anything like that. I'm not gonna get blocked in, beaten, car jacked and to potentially lose my life like that guy.
I'm also thinking about getting a cheap 12 gauge pump to exclusively keep in the truck. Something that works well, but that I don't care if it gets banged around. My LGS has 8 rd Mossberg 500's for $300. I could probably find a better deal than that though. The pistols are obviously quicker to use and plenty effective, not sure if that's overkill. Thoughts?

B35, everything you listed seems like a good idea, amigo. Nothing to add, except maybe a battery pack style phone charger. You may carry one of those anyway, but I usually throw one in if I'm traveling more than an hour or so from home. Do you regularly travel in 'urban' or 'culturally diverse' areas where these 'peaceful demonstrations ' are likely?

Those sound like good additions for sure, I should consider some extra precautions. Admittedly, I rely almost exclusively on my pistol, knife and situational awareness but some less lethal stuff in the vehicular unit could be a good thing.
I think a pistol grip only 20ga under the seat/spare tire may have some validity here and would be handy in and around a vehicle. You're going to be engaging from spitting distance. Maybe even a Judge/Governor with birdshot as a GTFO my car gun so you can make room to evade (hopefully) without a homicide investigation following.
Might be a good time to relegate your old pistol vests to the car and buy a couple new(er) IIIA for the house

You may carry one of those anyway, but I usually throw one in if I'm traveling more than an hour or so from home. Do you regularly travel in 'urban' or 'culturally diverse' areas where these 'peaceful demonstrations ' are likely? Good idea. I actually put together a phone kit with 3 battery's and one battery/solar charger awhile back with all the various cords, outlet plus and cigarette plugs and a case, but unless we go somewhere as a family I rarely take it. I should probably throw at least one of them in there though. Don't know if it's like this for all of you but it's like I'm on a continual rotation of getting prepared with a lot of activity, lots of lists and gear, re-familiarization for the few bits of gear I rarely use (today it was the spare tire under my truck, the jack and tire star and locking lugs and lug-key) and then a gradual descent into just going through the motions until something else pops up that makes me evaluate everything all over again. --- I used to have to travel into Pleasant Grove, Oak Cliff and So. Dallas (which are the bad areas of Dallas) every 3rd day. After I quit CareFlite though it's been awhile for me (couple years) to have to travel through those areas or have to go to a station down there until yesterday because my wife asked me to take her to one of her nursing CE's. The hospital auditorium the CE was at is located in a so-so area, but you have to travel through some not so nice areas to get there and she didn't want to go down there alone because of everything that's going on, because they're shitty high crime areas to begin with and because she's horrible about getting lost even if the streets aren't tricky. So whenever she has to go down there I almost always go with her and just kick it and wait for her until it's over. There are some demonstrations in Dallas currently and in the past the demonstrators have shut down some of the freeways before by walking across them (I-45), but the police are usually pretty good about clearing them off. We live in the suburbs on the Far East side of Dallas and there haven't been any of that kind of thing over here, it's only in South Dallas or Central Dallas. The UPS thing is real sporadic though and I'm interviewing for an ambulance company that's located in the hood, so I'm probably going to have to start driving through all of those areas again.
