Apple tree be blowin' up, dawg. You really should prune that tree down to one leader(main trunk). I say that based on my 40 years growing apples & 3 years working in an orchard while in HS.

I would, but I have no idea what would be best for the tree. It's a very young tree and struggled this year.

I would, but I have no idea what would be best for the tree. It's a very young tree and struggled this year. Just select the strongest leader ---then cut the rest down to the ground. I would also stake and tie it for support for a few years. You may doubt me---so look up "pruning apple trees"

Ok, cool, I'll do that. I have no reason to doubt you, sounds like you have way more experience than me.

Pressing on into week 4 of my "Fight Becoming a Fatboy" gym routine. 6 days a week, alternating days between weights and cardio. Tonight was cardio. I hate cardio. Really hate it. DW is in week 4 of learning Yoga. I can barely touch my toes...she's able to touch them to her forehead...from behind.

Stick with it Lowkey, I'm back on a low carb diet my self. I bumped up 5 lbs in the last month so I need to drop that back to 215.

Over the past few weeks...
Got together with my firewood buddy and went on an epic cutting and splitting adventure. We've got 12 cords split and stacked and drying in the lean-two we built behind his house. Nice mix of maple, oak, cherry, poplar, and pine. Should be seasoned in time for the winter.
Been spending a lot of time working in the yard (new house = new landscaping needs) which, combined with the aforementioned woody workouts, has definitely hardened me up from a manual labor standpoint. Combined that with a renewed committment to working out while on-shift at the fire station, and I'm in as good a shape as I have been for a long time.
Learning some really cool things while working part-time at a local ER, including IV skills, entry level splinting and casting, assisting with sutures and staples, learning more about ER drugs, etc. Plus, the extra coin is always good to have.
Reached level 10 with my duolingo Spanish lessons. Que bueno! Not even close to being fluent, but I can carry on basic conversations with the spanish speaking patients in our ER and it's making me work some portions of my brain that were getting rather dusty.

Well, the axe certainly looks like it works well. Seems like it would torque your wrist if you slammed it into something really knotty, but for stuff that splits pretty easily anyway (pine, poplar) might be a good deal. Forget about the axe though... using the tire to contain the log you're splitting is FUCKING GENIUS!!!!!! I have to bend over and pick up every piece I split, then put it back on the log and split it again. Never again, I say!! To be fair though, as much as I *heart* manual wood splitting as a primal exercise session, there is no substitute for a good hydraulic splitter. I must admit that probably 95% of my splitting is done that way - - I pretty much only do kindling using an axe. The chainsawing, stacking, and hauling, though, is still good old elbow grease.

I bought 2k of M855, 3k of 9mm, finished two rifle builds, bought a Gen 3 G19 frame, and I've lost ten pounds. I'll post pics of the builds, I think I'll do a write up about them. Pretty fun to come up with the last build. Did something cool on the second build. That's it. So far.

Been playing tennis when the rain's not beating us down.
Holy crap it's been a while since I've run around a court. Playing for 3hrs in sweltering humidity chasing fuzzy green balls around can wear a guy down. When did rackets get so crazy expensive?

IDK when rackets got expensive but I used to play racketball and those are insanely expensive too.

After not doing chin up for about a month I came back and cranked out 3 sets of 10. Working out with 6L Euro water packs did the trick.
