So I'm interested in buying a couple triggers for my AR's. One trigger for my AR pistol where I'd like to increase its output a bit using double taps as well as smoothing it out and one for my semi.precision 20 inch coyote AR. I've only ever owned two triggers that wouldn't just be regular ole mil-spec. A RRA National Match and a Flat Faced CMC trigger. I'm leaning towards getting a Geissele B-GRF ($140 on sale) for the AR pistol just because it sounds like exactly what I want. It's rate of fire is almost comparable to a full auto. It does very well judging from the timer on some of these videos. It sounds like a budget version of the Geissele S3G trigger ($240). Plus if there were a ban in the future that focused on these double/echo/binary triggers that banned them outright and/or that included them in the NFA I believe that these Geissele triggers wouldn't be included simply because they're just regular triggers. One shot per squeeze and release. They're just light, and repeatable with a short reset. They're not ' Echo' triggers. For the scoped 20 inch semi.precision AR I'm thinking of just buying another flat CMC trigger. That's just because I'm familiar with it though. Information on the various triggers. Good video links, and I will be watching this thread with interest. I have only ever had military issue or ‘comes with the rifle’ type triggers, I don’t know if I’ve ever even shot a rifle that has a really good trigger on it. I have several friends who are in the know, however, that say a decent trigger really makes a difference as far as how a rifle shoots. Wish I could provide some advice, but I’m afraid I will just be a lurker for this thread!

Alright, so Brownells kept on saying that there was some sort of problem with my card on that Geissele B-GRF trigger order. Ordered it twice and it got dropped twice. This gave me time to think and since it's going on my general purpose rifle that has the ACOG I used my wife's card to order a different Geissele trigger (B-G2S-E) that was on the same page instead. No problem ordering with her card, not sure what the deal was. The Geissele B-G2S-E www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/triggers-parts/triggers/ar-15-enhanced-triggers-prod67223.aspxI felt like this might better be a better fit for a rifle where I'm occasionally trying to shoot up to 600 yards. Mostly I'm shooting at targets and hogs, deer and coyotes in between 25-to-200 yard range, but I occasionally dabble in longer range shooting. Going off of YouTube videos and reviews of the B-GRF trigger I had second thoughts about that trigger in a scoped rifle since inadvertently doing double taps was a possibility. So instead I bought the Geissele B-G2S-E. It's basically the G2S trigger, but it's the 'Enhanced' version that uses J-Clips to hold the pins in place, it doesn't have any engraving on the trigger and they're batch inspected instead of individually inspected. Before this I'd never had any experience with J-Clips. J-Clip on Geissele B-G2S-E The B-G2S-E trigger feels like the trigger on my RRA National Match. Some smooth take up, a wall and a crisp break. At any rate a test of this trigger is coming up. This is about as fast as I can shoot with a plain mil-spec trigger with some creep and still hit something about 20 yards away. For some reason my phone or YouTube is having my videos turned upside down. You get the idea listening anyway. This is the target after a couple mags. If it stops raining and being muddy I'm immediately going to go test that trigger out. ---- For my 20 inch coyote whacker rifle with the Accupoint I'm really considering getting the Hiperfire EDT-3 or the CMC match flat faced trigger. I really liked the flat faced triggers that I had the opportunity to try. www.hiperfire.com/product/edt-designated-marksman/www.joeboboutfitters.com/CMC-Tactical-FLAT-3-5lb-Single-Stage-Drop-In-Trigg-p/cmc-91503ar.htm

Good choice! I'm a bit of a G fanboi.
I've got the SSA-E and G2S as well as a LaRue MBT2 and two Hiperfire EDT2s.
My G2S has J clips FWIW.
I'm interested in trying the rapid fire trigger for sure.

How light is that SSA-E? I was a little concerned about letting off an accidental double tap when I meant to just fire a single rd. That rifle I put it in is kind of my go to rifle for just about anything, so I didn't want something too light in there and I'm basically doing this blind. No one I know here has one.

Its pretty light, it will double when prone if just holding the pistol grip and support hand in a fist under the toe of the stock with foregrip on a bag but that's the only time it will. I would recommend it for a precision rig but the G2S is better for general use IMO and is much cheaper.
I would really give the MBT a look, its only $99 on sale pretty often. Its just as good as the G offerings.

Just got finished checking them out online and they look at least equal to some of Geissele's offerings while being between $40 to $65 less. So I totally think I'm gonna pull the trigger on one. You're actually the first person I've heard mention them, so thanks.

Any love for the KE Arms SLT-1 trigger? I never heard of them until you mentioned them. I like the fact that you can engage the safety after the hammer is already forward and the fact that KE Arms made their trigger compatible with ambi 45 degree safeties (some that Geissele isn't always compatible with from what I've read).

Finally got the Geissele G2S-E trigger out there and unfortunately while it's a good trigger and it's quite a bit smoother than what I had in there it didn't turn me into a world class 3 gun competitor capable of .12 and .13 split times.
My shooting buddy said that it seemed that it was a tiny bit faster than the other gun that I brought out there, it wasn't a huge difference. Also since that one has an ACOG I'd lose the target through the scope after about 3 rds and have to re acquire it.
My phone didn't have enough storage on there to do a video (I should have down loaded the videos of my family that are on there onto YouTube prior to going), so I'll do that before going next time. To be continued.

I wouldn't sweat that too much. I can't get much faster than .20s based on phone video but I don't have a shot clock.
Did you shoot for groups at all?

I wouldn't sweat that too much. I can't get much faster than .20s based on phone video but I don't have a shot clock. I really need to download one on my phone. Unfortunately, no. Not really. On that shorter connex box 'range' (for lack of a better term) I had a target set up, but it ended up exactly like the other one. On the 100 yard range it's been raining a lot here and rather than walk across that muddy field we just used the steel plates. I didn't miss it once, but it's an 8 inch plate at 100 yards. Hopefully the range will be fully open next time we go. Edit : There was a lawsuit at that range and one of the conditions to re-opening was a taller berm and overhead cover. So they installed concrete tubes to shoot down until the overhead cover can be built. No more 3 gun matches for awhile.
