www.full30.com/video/133bc5a7346861f64e3adde359a002feOk, this is yet another in a LONG string of attacks by Muslim in Paris. These have been happening here as well and will escalate. POTUS just brought in 10k and if 1% are fighters, that's 100 to contend with. It's very easy hide 50 bad apples in a bunch of 10k. There are pictures around of hardcore muslims holding heads only to be found attempting to come into countries as refugees. Just getting the ball rolling.

Yup. 'Cause breaking into Reserve Armories is so much easier than altering semi-autos. Someone remind me, on what date do they hold the Marathon again?

Debating keeping my plate carrier and AR pistol in a duffel bag in the trunk.
War is upon us.

Debating keeping my plate carrier and AR pistol in a duffel bag in the trunk. War is upon us. Well, brewing. Maybe at a simmer, even....but no arguing it's ready to get to a full rolling boil in the blink of an eye.

Maybe at a simmer, even....but no arguing it's ready to get to a full rolling boil in the blink of an eye. Kinda just kept on doing what I started doing right before the Zimmerman verdict, threw a few loaded Glock 17 mags in the door of my truck, put a small individual first aid kit and an abbreviated GHB Kit in my truck and started carrying a back up gun (right now it's a .40 Shield, was a G42). Normally my main pistol these days is a G26 and besides the 12 rd mag in it I carry two others on me. Added together with the mags in the door of the truck and what's in the back up gun I have 94 rds on tap. If I go through 94 rds in some end time Ragnarok/Gotterdammerung gun battle and don't survive because of a lack of available ammo I'm gonna be really pissed off. Personally I think for the most part higher cap semi pistols are more the answer. Right now at least you're more likely to be attacked by some violent criminal or a loon than a team of AK wielding ISIS terrorists wearing suicide vests. I'm just hesitant to leave any guns in my truck after getting that one stolen.

Figure out a way to lock it to the truck, you're a clever guy Maybe a plate carrier (cheaper steel plate if you're worried about theft), blow out kit. Spare cell phone. Gas mask (hey, theres the potential for both CS use by LE as well as nasty stuff by the bad guys). Maybe a heavy-bolted-to-the-bed toolbox? BTW, does your insurance not cover the stolen gun? *How reliable are the magpul drums, anyway?

Wonder if its ordinary burglars. During the late 60's, 70's and 80's the Irish mob on the east coast hit a bunch of National Guard armories and sold the weapons to the IRA. They ended up with several M60's and a shitload of M-16's and this group headed up by George Harrison shipped them out. - On the gun storage in/on the truck I have a bolt on toolbox, But it's one of those ones where you have to climb into the bed of the truck each time to access it. I want to get one of those pistol safes that reside in the center console.

The Pmag 40s run well for me though.

I remember that.....which makes both of us "not young". How about just build int into the back of the front seats. Exit the vehicle (if inside), open the rear door (if crew/king/ect or tilt the seat forward) pop the panel open and take gun. Maybe you could have a plate carrier inside there as well? Not sure how much "empty" space there is inside of a vehicle seat these days. Likewise you could do one attached to the underside of the set (vs the floor). Maybe custom door panels? I never use those damn pocket/shelf/cubby hole things at the bottom of my doors. If the space there all the way up to the built in armrest was enclosed I'd never miss it, and that volume should fit an AR pistol with lots of room to spare. Hit a junk yard for old/used panels, modify them, install, and keep the originals in your garage for resale time. Gee...I feel like the fall guy now. Where's Farrah? Not a substitute for a CCW if you're being car-jacked, but then again if you're getting car-jacked you wouldn't have time to be messing about with a console lock box either..

Observation: IF (big if) you were caught at the scene of a mass attack such as occurred in Paris, AND you had something other than just a pistol....this is one of the rare occasions where I think full auto might be beneficial.
I'm not suggesting "Rambo". The proper use of automatic fire is short bursts, not "bullet hose" mode. It's not as hard to learn to use properly as some may have made it out to be, but it is expensive in ammo costs.
I'm also not suggesting this from the angle of "running to the sound of the guns", more from a "I'm laying down cover fire while my family/loved ones retreat".
Yet another reason the NFA sucks and should go away.

So you're saying a bounding retreat with suppressive fire? I like where your head is.
