Some folks don't like noise in their head when doing fitness thing, I can dig that. Some folks like having that extra push from a beat/etc to help them power through a set, I know I love it on leg day.
I listen to everything - and I mean everything. Ever lifted to kabuki? It's wild. In that theme, put something up that helps you power through the pain and achieve that new PR. I'll be posting random crap that makes me work hard over the next few - take some/leave some, it's all good.
To start it off - a personal fave in the squat rack, wait for that drop and power through when you're trapped in the bottom.

Nice, love CM and the Misfits.
And just because curls get the girls (and whatever the reverse is, I dunno so I'll ask Mrs NXP when I get home), bust a few sets to this -
Awwwwwwwwwe yeah...

I haven't been in a gym in along time, but I'm a punk and ska kinda guy. Ramones being my go-to. Slayer use to get me too fired-up. However, Dragonforce and Iron Maiden really got my juices going in the gym.

This is probably why I hurt myself at the gym.

For lifting I prefer dead silence. I have an internal monologue going on (which would bilster paint off a warships hull, then blister the hull plating off as well).
Now for running I like music,

I don't listen to a lot of music when running unless I'm on a trail system - too easy to get schmucked in the city with folks busy on everything else but driving their automobiles. Even on the trail I usually go music-less so I can watch nature/etc. If I'm stuck on the hamster track due to weather/whatever then I'll usually plug in some of the old DnB like Photek/etc. Example:
Not overly obnoxious; repetitive and easy to match cadence to, can turn off thinker and let body move.
Then there's time that something just flat out needs to be destroyed - hopefully it's not YOU, but hey - damage works in mysterious ways so best get there first -

And then there is this. I'm a long time fan of Siouxsie and work them in the rotation often.
I saw them in a small club in DC and the very first Lollapalooza. They put on an awesome show both times. No one was even near the stage during the lollapalooza show so it was super awesome. I was very close, totally cool memory for me.
Rollins band played too which was pretty gnarly to see a mosh pit with 400ish people in it. I saw at least 15 people get their noses broken. I dipped out of that after I saw the 3rd one.
It was the second time for me seeing NIN as well but I was no where near the stage. Disappoint. Morrissey played as well which was great. Fishbone was epic but not as epic as when they played small clubs. It was like the 50th time I'd seen Butthole Surfers too. Much better at small shitty clubs.
Oh, well, old school post punk rocker out.

We need to all sit down with a truckload of beer on ice and reminisce about the glory days. Tony can sit at our feet and listen to his elders talk about way back when, like a good young whipersnapper!

My first "going with homies" concert was Meat Puppets and Primus. Yes, there were some glory days when concerts were awesome, fun, and cheap.
