Tony - If electronic has been handed over to the hipsters I'm a sad, sad, sad panda. I grew up in the electronic revolution that spilled out of the 70's (Kraftwerk) into what fought to differentiate itself from NewWave (New Order) and eventually became house (Moby) and the roaring, thumping 90's Techno that really defined Electronica before it subdivided itself into a billion pieces like EBM/DnB/etc etc etc. I still have fond memories of listening to the chip tunes that came from the Amiga Demo discs and for those that were nefarious enough to play with them, the "game crack" intro's that let you play your buddies stolen cart. Can you tell I love electronica? Always have, always will. Just something about shaping those waves into something far more complex than what their oscillators should allow to create all those awesome sounds. These dudes were so far ahead of the curve they made the damn curve. Sampling in 1986 when the best hope you had was DAT - these guys were always the pioneers... Honestly I was a big fan of all their albums, but this one was my favorite for some reason. 1981.... Don't get me started on my whole "ambient electric" phase, I think I've got all the BOC/FSOL albums too...

I can't like "LIKE" that post enough, GBM. Chit is cash money when you want to feel unstoppable.
Also in the same vein -

Nah, I was just joking, I don't consider it hipster music. I see a lot of influence from electronic music in pop culture, music in commercials/movie trailers etc and seems to be getting more diverse popular as time goes on.
Those Kraftwerk videos are pretty cool, hadn't heard of them. I only listened to the first one fully but you can definitely see some similarities and traits cross over from old to new. Some of the stuff I listen to may make you cringe, though if you like Glitch Mob too then maybe not.
OT: For working out I listen to rock or metal generally but really anything I'd normally listen to will do fine. Some Five Finger Death Punch or old school Metallica will get the blood flowin' purty good.

I may be strange but i have listened to them on repeat for long boring drives. Not judging at all. I'm guilty of TSwifty bubblegum and this little gem on occasion... And for this morning sample of oddness - for some reason this song was causing flashes of Jane Fonda (the young hot version not the older creepy one) in the brain while busting pull ups. Love the sound, hope the album is as good as the teaser... EDM baby -
