Alrighty, so I keep a vehicle kit, so to speak, in case of emergencies (of course) or to supplement my bug-out gear, etc. Alot of it is just old or secondary gear that can still serve some use. The bag in there is a CountyComm sat-bag. It's a cross body over the shoulder bag with a nice streamline shape that doesn't take up too much space. If need be, it can serve as a GHB. My mighty battle wagon is a Subaru Forester. I know, badass, right? Here you see how everything rides. Still plenty of room for groceries and beer coolers. To the right is a battery starter and first aid kit. Left, you see a gallon of water and a 3gal fuel can. Tucked behind there is a flashlight, blaze orange hat & vets, staple gun and staples (in the 9mm box, if they're not in my car, I'll forget them when going to the range), work gloves, and assorted towels and rags. The aforementioned "GHB" is tucked in the back. Bag contents: The poncho liner and polytarp are rolled together. If I need to hike out and shoulder the bag, I guess I would just hand carry those items or bungee them to the bag. The solar shade can serve double duty as a ground pad. FAK is a USMC combat aidsman pack. Pretty sweet piece of kit: My sooby has a pretty sweet cargo compartment that can store a good amount of gear. The spare is underneath the organizer: In the near future I hope to have a cargo basket and trailer hitch so the Omega's can bug out in true Clampetts style So, post whatcha got! We can keep this a pic thread or have comments. In the true spirit of freedom and liberty, I really don't care.

I got one of those from Wally World for $200. It's in a 40# cratering charge case waiting to get buried at BOL1. Also, waiting to hear back from a guy in FL about a 80s Land Rover with a diesel. /fingers crossed

Outstanding! I've got to work on ours, and I need to focus on my wife's car. You'd think that the winters here would motivate her to get more involved, but so far, not as much as I'd like.

Omega, that's a really nice setup! My Honda Fit is jealous of your Soob's storage space...

Just got new work truck (2009 Chevy Silverado, extended cab for the car seat and 4wd--of course!) and going thru the painful process of cleaning out my old truck (a badass F150 longbed with nice knobby tires--a beast in the woods, I hope my new intern doesn't destroy it). Man, I have quite the odd collection of gear for work: -Up front are pioneering tools, snake-handling hooks and tongs, and an extra paddle Tailgate, L-R: -Omni and directional antennas with radio receiver for radio telemetry -day box with explosive charges for rockets, rockets on top (used for rocket-netting turkeys) -a couple of traps for beavers, 1 connibear, 1 foot-hold -tackle box and cast net -2 pairs of bino -refractometer (used for measuring salininty in water) -Jansport backpack with USMC gore-tex parka, mechanix gloves, shemagh, spare batteries -pile of electronics: garmin etrex 20, garmin foretrex, cheap digital camera, cheap headlamp -field notebooks and journals, compass on top -bug spray -.22LR ammo -ammo can with more ammo, ear-pro, uh--oil filter with "patch-trap" adaptor for when I clean the fast escaping gases out of a .22 -grocery bag with targets and staple gun Back row, L-R: - blue tarp -floatation cushion seats and PFD -snake boots -rubber boots -Misc container for small items: tools, work gloves, flagging tape, electric & duct tape, hack saw. measuring tape, bungees, ratchet straps, etc... -bucket with various small chains, heavy duty tow chain, trailer hitches, jumper cables -box trap for small mammals -bag of shelled feed corn There's usually a couple of powerful spotlights there, but they were on the chargers. A Marlin cheap-O .22LR also stays in the truck, but was being soaked in lube at time of picture (the back window doesn't seal very well, letting most of the outside "in", thus resulting a very rusty firearm that lays on the floor behind the seat) You know what I am really missing?...A decent first aid kit! WTF!!! I thought one might have been buried in the tool box, but nope. Epic fail. Need to fix that ASAP I also need to piece together a decent socket wrench set.

You know, I don't have a darn thing to contribute to a vehicle kit thread. It takes me about 30 minutes to get from "A" to "B" over here, all though flat desert. I can hump it on foot if need be in a few hours (even in the 140 deg summer temps) without more than a liter or two of water (been here far too long). When I finally get to demob from this hell-hole to my place in AK. I'll be looking at a jeep of the wee bit of travel on the roads, and a skiff and/of sailing skiff for the majority of travel by sea (coastal). When that time comes I hope to supply this thread with a goodly bit of no bs low-cost ways to deal with the stuff Murphy can throw your way. Until then I just want to say that ya'll are welcome in "my" stompin' grounds. I can't see any of you (as of the date of this post) being unwelcome to me or the other people on the island if and when for the duration of anything. Frankly I wish you all would just move up here...

Lowkey, I know you're in the mideast, but doing what and where? Just curious, I don't mind vague answers and if it's too secret squirrel don't worry about answering.
Omega get on that FAK, my friend! You probably know way more about that shit than me but I think a couple Izzys, a SWAT TQ, kerlix, quikclot and a couple ACE wraps should do the trick for about $50. Maybe an NPA and some petroleum gauze, too.

Omega, just think of it as preplanning and prepositioning of supplies for the inevitable chaos your little darling will cause when she starts learning to drive (which will happen in about 15 minutes relatively speaking, if watching my nephews grow up is any indication of how time flies with kids getting older). There. That oughta get your ass in gear...

My daily driver is a regular cab 2001 Ram 4x4, so the only storage I have is behind the seat and in the tool box. Don't have any pictures but here's what I gotz:

In vehicle:
- 2 pair of ANSI approved sunglasses, 2 pair work gloves, another first aid kit - pry bar, hammer, 20 foot tow strap, several ratchet straps, 100' of flat rope - two LED flashlights, pens, pencils, paper, $200 spare cash, couple of large trash bags - Decent tool kit, tire plug kit, 2 cans Fix-a-flat, 2 gallons anti-freeze, 2 quarts synthetic 10W-30, road flares, - wasp spray, spare fuses, empty 2 gallon gas can, small floor jack, jumper cables, Hi-Viz safety vest - State maps: Alabama, Florida, Mississippi. Good Kit OM (I know...I'm a little late to the forum...) I take a little more modular approach... Vehicle "Survival Kit" (this has all the non-vehicle related stuff...stuff I can grab if I l forgot something at the house, etc., but can also be used in a break-down situation): Pic 1: 100' 550# Cord Pack of baby wipes 9'x12' Drop Cloth Orange Vest Orange Duct Tape Pic 2: Grundig Shortwave Handwarmers 2ea. Mylar Blankets Pic 3: Strobe Aviator Spaklite Kit Gerber Clip-It Gerber Scissor/Multi-tool Latex Gloves Vaseline Cotton Balls (in film canister) Pic 4: (Left Cont) Water Purification Tabs Misc. Gear Reapir Steel Wool Elect. Tape Super Glue 12ea. lithium AA 12ea. Lithium AAA MRE TP Laser Brite Light w/ magnetic Mount/Diffuser Dome (Right Cont) Micro Razor Blade Metal Pencil Sharpener Whistle Mini-Bic w/ tinder Saw Fuel Tabs Inova 24/7 w/ headlamp adapter Sterno Canned Fuel Para-cord bracelet (the second one has since been replaced with .38 spcl ammo for my BO pistol) Pic 5: Misc Drink Packs GPS Unit Smoke Twine (tucked in duct tape) TP Platypus Pic 6: WX/NOAA Radio Hankey Gerber Freeman .22lr Map Compass Cheap Poncho's UCO Matches Tea Candles CB Mini-Mag Mylar BIVVY Aqua Mira Survival Straw Zip-Ties HH CB And here's my vehicle FAK; this is more of a BUG-OUT FAK, for family, etc., and not necessarily a vehicle accident FAK (that's separate), but this could be used in a pinch if necessary. My "Car FAK" is more trauma oriented. More to come...I'll post my more vehicle related gear shortly. Again, awesome thread OM!
