Does seem quite a bit smaller. Concealable waistband pistol vs pocket pistol.

Like in the Yankee Marshall video, mine too has a number on the frame but it's not a "1". Mine has a two on the frame. Curious, so we're into 3rd Gen for the 42?
More questions never answered by Glock.

Went by the LGS today to pick up my long awaited SB-15 brace, got a chance to check out a Glock 42. That thing is pretty small. Fits in a cargo pocket well
Broke it down with permission, no number in the frame.

Ok, I finally got back to the range with my son, daughter and neice so no formal testing however, I did get to put about 60 rds through the 42.
This gun is ultimately shootable, easy to draw from concealment and accurate. I had two FTF with some flat pointed 380. They were very flat pointed and were stopping on the top of the chamber. I put about 20 rds of Federal hydrashok, about 20 rd of magtech full copper hollow points (Which are mini ashtrays) and and another 20 rd of normal FMJ. No issues what so ever with these rds.
The trigger is very Glock, the sights are very Glock, and the pistol have almost zero precieved recoil. This gun is ultimately more shootable than the LCP or a 38 spl. The reload is just as fast as any other semi auto and the controls are all Glock.
At first, I really didn't want to like this gun and thought the very idea was horrible. I think I've been converted. I'll go have some crow now, Gaston.

I keep reminding myself that I really want a G26.
What I really want is a G42 in 9mm.
After fondling the G42, I have a hard time still wanting the G26.
Not to say that I couldn't carry the G26 and be happy, but I could carry the G42 all day long in scrubs and still not really care if it was there or not (note - work won't let me, I'm just using it as a reference for anyone that's worn pajamas all day).
I could almost really dig it if it had another two rounds, but 6+1 just seems so anemic in a Glock that size.
Yep, still want it (G42). Damnit.

I'd like to see 8 rd mags for this gun too.
Rumor is that the 9mm is coming out this year, leaked by this guy...
Man, too much sun guy.

Man, I know Lenny loves the plastic, er - polymer, but what's the bill on Tammy's fountain?
A single stack 9mm would only be as awesome if it holds true to the dimensions of the G42. If it's chunkier in any way, the G26 would still be superior.
Gaston needs to work on an 8rnd near flush mag for the 42.
Sig needs to striker-ize the P290. They did it to the P250, get to work on the 290, please!
(Hell, even Ruger put a striker in the LC9 - "Striker's are the in thing, kids!" - quoted 1987)

Yeah, I was wondering, where's RTF? This Glock is a winner. I was working out last night with it on in jogging shorts. No one noticed and neither did I.

Alright, I got the range with the G42 again yesterday because a friend wanted to try it. He liked it. I put another 100rds through it and there were no malfunctions, even with the ammo that previously induced them. I finally shot it on paper and the gun shoots an inch to the left at 5yds. I didn't have my sight pusher so I had to adjust by sight. The gun also shot left for my buddy so it wasn't just me. I had to shoot 3" left at 17 yds while shooting plates. While the gun did shoot left it was damn accurate. This gun continues to prove to be very shootable. Much more so than a snubby or a LCP. The recoil is very mild and the gun can be fired rapidly with relative ease. I'm not as fast as I am with the Glock 26 however, the 42 is no slouch. Some say this gun should be in 9mm and while I intellectually agree, the 380 is more appropriate for this size of gun. I have no issue with recoil control or shooting, I believe that a chambering in 9mm would be too much for this size of gun IMO.

What holster are you running? I ordered an Alien Gear IWB for my Kel Tec PF-9 that came in a few weeks ago and I forget I am even carrying. I was really surprised by the quality considering the price. You should check them out if you haven't settled on one yet.

Yeah, I need to get a better one but I got a Bladetech clip on with the gun. It's a good holster and fits the overall concept of this gun for me. Quick on, secure and easy to remove. One of these days I'm going to get RTF to make me one for it but right now I'm ok with this one.
