I left the light that far forward more for looks and balance after I tried getting used to the AFG on it. I just can't get used to that thing so I took it off.
I don't mind adjusting my grip if I anticipate having to trigger the light, other than that I use the magwell grip.

That's not the point.
The point is that a consistent hold is important to consistent hits, especially under stress.
Constantly adjusting your grip only adds to the stressors.
Plus, a white light should be on ALL primary weapons for target identification and searching.
If this is a toy, then disregard.

I get your point, I don't really think about my grip too much while shooting I just adjust around whatever barricade or drill to whatever is comfortable and hasn't been an issue for me. My grip changes significantly especially when I go to prone or kneeling and with body armor.

I dropped by the LGS today and got a chance to try an AR pistol with one of those Sig stabilizers and yeah, it's like a 6-position fully collapsed. My nose was a cm from the CH. Not comfortable, but do-able.

You can adjust it wherever you want, it is that tight. I don't know how much it will walk forward with recoil, but if you wrap your buffer tube in a few layers of tape I am pretty sure you wouldn't have to worry about that too much.

Personally, I'd build the pistol slowly. PSA has good deals going right now and I've got one built for $600. Runs like a tops. Even if you don't hit that price point you can spread the dollars out of months.

Yeah...I don't know about tape to keep it at a certain position. Was reading this.... Made sense. BTW...anyone heard of Diamondback AR pistols? At the LGS they had those Diamondback AR pistols for $850 and Sig AR (I think that they're the Sig P516 10') pistols for $370-something more and those seem like more of a sure thing. If the stuff I have up for sale ever actually sells maybe I'll get one. (Also thanks. I had no interest whatsoever in AR pistols and now I'm looking at them)

Taping the buffer tube for a tighter fit wouldn't be a modification of the Sig brace just the buffer tube.
I love my Sig 516, never had any problem with it, never heard of diamondback.
No problem, at first I thought the Sig brace was kinda clownshoes too but so far I have not been disappointed.

Very nice! What is the barrel length. I noticed your buffer tube doesn't have a castle nut either, do you notice it getting loose? Mine loosened and I am not able to tighten it back up without interfering with the buffer tube pin. I think I need a castle nut.

It's 10.5, haven't fired it yet.
On the castle nut I've read that some pistol builds don't have them and that the tube just tightens down on the end plate similar to a rifle extension tightening onto the lower. The end plate has to have the nub removed so you can spin the tube on. I'll look for loosening, but I don't think I'll have an issue.

That ar pistol looks very familiar... Yeah, I imagine it would. Gonna get a light mount for it (probably an SMC from Impact Weapons, I love the one I have on my Noveske), a Primary Arms Micro, maybe one of those KAK industries (what a name, sounds like a guy from Jersey saying ' cock') SB-15 buffer tubes and a Sig SB-15 ' Who are we kidding?' brace. Stymied on which muzzle device to get. Thought about getting a Noveske Pig to direct the noise forward, but from what I've heard those are kind of large. Had a suggestion for the Troy Claymore, but in light of their hiring decisions I'm not really down with sending them my money. There's also the Ferfrans CRD, but damn that thing's expensive. Looks like it works well though. AR pistols are freaking loud. www.falconops.net/index.php?route=store/product&product_id=257jerkingthetrigger.com/2013/12/13/ferfrans-cqb-modular-muzzle-brake-system/Gonna have to sell something else to do all that as I'm poor if I'm going to do it all at once (and the market sucks right now...MF'er I can't wait til I'm outa school and bringing a paycheck home again), but it'll be awesome once it gets exactly how I want it. Also thought about getting a covert bag for it. Everything from M60 barrel bags, to tennis racket cases to a County Comm XL Sat-Com bag dancing in my head. Probably go with the M60 barrel bag, those are inexpensive ($14 + shipping) from Numrich.

Thats going to turn out nice! I am debating getting a fire pig also, what is the deal with Troy? I didn't know they had a fire pig like muzzle device and I am not tracking who they hired.
I dont play tennis but if I did have a need for a cc case I think that would be the route I would take. I think anyone with the right eye for weapons may be able to tell with the rest of the bags, but the tennis bag may throw them off.
Are you keeping the paint job? I debate cleaning up mine but I think I am just going to let it wear out and not re-paint it.

Yeah, I think it'll come out good. The Troy Claymore is one that they have that's kind of like the Noveske Pig. *This* is what I was talking about in relation to their hiring practices. I have a Wilson tennis racket case that works pretty well for one of my short folding rifles. No one actually really notices it. I've even had people carry it before and then told them to look inside and they were always like...' WTF!!!'. never occured to them that a rifle might be inside. Gonna keep the paint and probably add to it. It's the base for Rhodesian camo. I'll give it a shot at completing it. Once I'm done I'll post it here. Depending on how it comes out I'll either nuke it or keep it...depending.
