... Now, it's quite comfortable to be poor. If I had to distill the problem down to a single sentence, that would be it. We've gotten to the point where there is little-to-no financial difference between working a minimum wage/entry-level job and being on welfare...and that is a huge problem. What incentive is there for people to "work their way up" if being unemployed pays just as much as starting at the bottom? Starting at the bottom isn't easy, it sucks...and knowing that you could make just as much playing video games, or watching TV, or surfing the web will be enough for people to say "the hell with this!" and settle for a life of welfare. Here's kind of an interesting article.... townhall.com/columnists/charlottehays/2014/01/17/what-happened-when-north-carolina-slashed-unemployment-benefits-people-got-jobsweird-n1780439

Deep down, I think we all know that an unacceptable percentage of people on welfare and unemployment are there by choice and not by necessity. While I don't like the idea that some of the truly deserving could potentially see their benefits reduced or taken away with program reform, sometimes "purges" are simply necessary for said programs to continue functioning as intended, instead of eventually being run into the ground. What we need are more effective ways to ensure that those who are receiving benefits are actually deserving of them, and are not just choosing to receive benefits instead of working. That's not what welfare or unemployment benefits are supposed to be for, and the system will continue to be abused until we figure out ways to do that.

I think the systematic, incremental purge is the right way to do it. Everyone with an A for the first letter of your last name, you have 90 days to Re enroll. What, 75% is fraud, and that's what they admit to? Same goes for section 8 housing.

Well, heh, you see, we must pass a law that forbids any company from leaving the state for any reason. FREEDOM. Yeah, that's good USC, make education even more expensive and pointless.

I love how she said she almost made her lose her job. I guess going to jail isn't as bad as losing a job.

HA! I was just in Rovereto, Italy. I had a spritz and a snacky pastery treat.
Personally, I don't see this doing well in Italy but perhaps other places, maybe. Problem is there are loads of pizzerias there already that don't taste like they're made in a machine.
AND I FOUND APEROL! Had two last night. Yum.

I would see this as an option for smaller commuter areas such as non-hub train stations and smaller airports with limited food vending options.
