Bought a Ryobi 1800 watt generator at HD on sale. It is really REALLY quiet, even under load. This replaces my 3800 watt genny, which, while reliable, was louder than my ex wife on a drunken bitch n moan session.
For sale: lightly used loud generator.

Finished enlarging the chicken coop and picked up 3 RIR hens. I already have a pretty light brown egg to sit next to the olive drab ones...

I worked in the garage, dislodging gear I feared may have been dumpstered in the move from the containers it was hidden in.
One of my nicer assault packs got stowed with MH and ramen in it, so now it's full of mouse shit.
Fortunately, it was contained, and didn't funk up my other bags underneath it.
Still need to build a new work bench to directly replace the one built into the base of the storage loft in my garage.
I got a nice bench vise for Christmas, and this light duty bench will not survive the beating it invites...

The cats are stored there, ready to go after any critters that may try to get in my long-term food. ...come to think of it, I haven't heard them very much, after the first few weeks they all got real quiet... But that first week or so, man, they sure could holler! Not so much these days. And it does smell a little peculiar in there. I should probably check the bag. (Also, to remain on topic. I started acquiring reloading supplies.)

Remember, if you dont open the bag, they exist in a state of both dead AND alive...

ONCE.
While I had great respect for The Blind Samurai, and the stripes it regularly added to my oft foolish offspring, the allergy adaptation my body eventually developed to her never applied to any other cat.
Also, I dislike them.
I am a dog person. We have 3.

I still am convinced if I had just shot the witch, I would have saved a lot of money, and been out of prison by now... Hate to hear you had to go thru it, glad to hear you are getting a dog!

Divorces do seem to take up a lot of ones' time and money. Do you know why divorces cost so much? They're worth it. I still am convinced if I had just shot the witch, I would have saved a lot of money, and been out of prison by now... When I divorced the cheating bitch my first wife my attorney told me it would cost a few hundred dollars less to have him arrange with the police downstairs to shoot her and he was quite serious. She should be very glad I'm not a tightwad.

Hate to hear about the divorce, AOW. I mean, ultimately it will end up being a good thing, but the process is pretty much always horrible. AS far as dogs, is there anything on this earth better than a good dog? We had to put down our old lass in July last year, leaving us with one elderly terrier mix and a disturbing amount of peace and quiet. Found a pit bull down in the river bottoms about a month ago, and it was a foot race between hypothermia and starvation to see which was going to kill him first (no kidding, the poor thing probably had less than 24 hours left on the clock). So, we took him to a local vet emergency clinic, then to the local shelter, then offered to foster him because they just don't have the personnel and time to look after a dog that sick. He weighed 21 pounds when we brought him in, he weighs 44 now. I am absolutely head over heels in love with the little bastard, as is my wife, and the shelter can have him back when they pry him from my cold dead fingers. He's still very much a puppy, though (vet has him pegged at around a year old), and it has been a LONG time since I had to deal with puppy issues. Still, he's awesome. So yeah, adopt a dog.

My wife brought home a young, half starved pit bitch a few months ago. It took a while for her to get used to being inside, and near people and other dogs, but she's doing pretty good now. Our old labs are, well, old, and will likely start having serious issues in the next 3-5 years. I've had enough labs to know that one or both will be a tripod before the end, and I know that I will likely be the only one there to hold them on that last day. Again. No matter how sad I am when they go, I will always take in another, and count myself lucky not to be immortal.

Well I have a 2 year old rescue dog named Malcolm (for you scifi fans, named after Capt Malcolm Reynolds) who is half black lab and half german shorthair, but I still want an Irish Wolfhound. As to what I did to prep today.... went to work
