I think I like the Dawson front and blacked out rear, too. I've also heard good things about the XS especially at the ranges a small gun like that is likely to be used, or the ranges any gun is likely to be used I suppose..0-10 yards.
For my G17 I'm leaning I dot, TFO, or that FO front and dark serrated rear sight. Am I supposed to get a certain size/height?
Also definitely interested in the rubberized Talon grips, I'm loving the granulate style. My hands get sweaty in summer especially so I think these grips will help alot, I took that pistol course it was 97 out and my Sig's slide serrations were completely filled in with white salt residue from manipulating the slide so often. The E2 grips on there really do keep the gun locked in your hand well, but the Talons are better IMO.

Browning how are you carrying your spare mags? I have a blackhawk single stack double mag carrier that I have been using for the last few months, its pretty good. The phone carrier I have on my belt next to it sticks out a little more and makes any printing look like part of my phone. Finished my first Ar lower receiver build. -Anderson arms blem from Primary Arms ($39). -PSA Lower build kit without trigger group -CMC single stage trigger -Magpul ASAP QD mount Was surprisingly easy to put together, i'm kicking myself for not starting builds sooner. The CMC trigger is pretty awesome, zeroed the rifle today very crisp and short reset. Haven't done any speed shooting but no doubt will be fast.

Yup, I was pretty amazed how easy mine was to put together too. They are definitely simple as it gets. I've built holsters and installed stereos that are more complex. I'm considering going with a fiberoptic front and plain black rear. I'm pretty much over night sights and anything on the rear at this point. Here's a short vid of me mallninjaing it up with the 15-22 a while back. I miss wasting ammo in brutally quick fashion with that. Could usually keep it on 8x10 paper shooting that fast at 25 yards If I wasn't moving. Miss those days.

I'm not trying very hard on the reloads, but by the time I get it out, flip it around, get it in the mag well and hit the button even if I was trying hard on the reloads it wouldn't be much faster. Was looking at those Sneaky Pete ones I listed earlier, haven't gotten them yet though.

Good shootin dudes!
Browning I found I was able to keep the holster in pocket most times if I drew up and to the rear at the same time then the little wing would catch my pocket..may or may not work for you (assuming you don't want it to come out) that Walther looks like it shoots nice.
RTF if you can run your .22 that well you'll be up and running on its big brother in no time. Makes me wanna break out ye olde chest rig and do some presentation drills (Ive always called these ready ups or snap ups)..next time I shoot I'll snap a video.
Homer that is a sweet looking rifle, I really really like the .mil issue look and when I get over my carry handle/A2 grip/GI stock look I'll likely set mine up just like yours. Nice PC, too. Oh, also, I have the same Blackhawk mag pouch except mine is a single for a dbl stack and is FDE..wish I'd gotten the two mag version, the single rotates too easily on the belt but the retention is really good on it.

Yeah, at first I was trying to do that. After a bit I was spending more time/effort trying to keep it my pocket than I was on shooting. Finally just said fuck it, if it flopped out then cool. What was funny was the couple times I went to go point it at the target with the holster still on. Managed to flick my wrist on the draw and avoid that.

Yup I had that happen a few times too, hadn't really considered the wrist flick, good thinking. I like Desantis products, that Nemesis is a neat little holster. Year old pic with my PSA..that light, optic and sling just keep getting recycled from build to build. I've had that PA micro almost two years on three rifles and have accidentally left it on for days even weeks and its still on the original battery..pretty impressive IMO. Hell, I've even baked it in my oven twice to cure paint.

Nice shooting Browning! If you get the big dot sights before I do you got to let me know how they compare to traditional sights.
Thanks As556, I had the same aversion to everything stock m4 for a while too, especially the A2 front sight but I ended up going full circle and making something as close to standard issue as possible. My pouch set up on my PC is still in play, I havent even shot with it but so far I am pretty happy with it.

I used to be able to run it like that. That video was from like two years ago when I still haas a stash of .22. That was probably the last good trip with that rifle.
B35, that plate rack looks fun.
That camo job is wicked awesome for what I am assuming is Krylon. Strong work.

Thanks, I thought it came out well. Yeah I degrease, etc, light coat primer then 4-5 light coats with base color first. After an hour (or 10 minutes with a hairdryer on turbo if drinking), I spray some brown and tan into separate containers then dab a natural sea sponge of the darker color in diagonal spongey stripes on the fully assembled rifle. Then when dry take the lighter color on a new sponge and dab it lightly over and around the darker stripes. After that I clear coat it, remove springs and bake for 2-3 hours at about 200 degrees. By fully assembled I mean no bolt or handle, upper stuffed with paper towels, earplug in muzzle and buffer tube taped off. I always had a hard time moving my stock after I painted the tube so it's not worth it IMO. Aside from protecting these areas the gun can be painted as is. I just used Rustoleum Camo spray paint but I think if you used Aervoe or Alumahyde it would come out super well and more durable. The pattern itself is shockingly simple..cant really mess it up. Desert version on a Galco thumb drive holster with my G17 on my hip right now. Love this holster so much.
