All I see in that picture Lowkey is "Tasty". Tasty, tasty bear steaks/sausage/jerky/ground/ribs..... MMmmmmmmmmm TASTY. I'm allowed two per year, no tag needed (sustinance hunting). I'e been warned though. hunt them inland if you want meat rather than a trophy. The ones along the shorelije taste fishy as hell.

I could see that. Diet has a huge effect on the "gameiness" of some animals. I shot a deer that was from up in the pine/juniper area of Canada once and the meat was WAY different than our corn and bean field poodles. Really makes you appreciate what you have, sort of like when I hunted down south, deer were much smaller than our usual. They tasted fine, though. Two bear a year. Our current wait-list on the "lotto" has us at 8 years for a bear tag in WI. If I want a fuzzy I head out of country.... I'm gonna move to where ever Lowkey's hanging out in. I'm sure there's a hospital up there...

What do you guys think about 69gr SMK in .223 as a defensive load? Found some locally $11/20.

1/9 twist stabilize a 69 grain bullet enough that you hits what you shoots at, or do you need a 1/7 for a heavier bullet like that?

I've shot a 1/9 with 77gr, did fine. I have a 1/8 and it bug holes 69 gr OTMs.

Winchester SP's were pretty much my preferred load with a bunch of 55 gr. SP's that I got for cheap doing backup. When I got a 1/7 I started using 70 and 75 grain.

Sweet, thanks guys. I grabbed enough to test a couple boxes and load two 30rd mags.
Now my "go" mags are a mix of Win Ranger 55gr SP, Prvi 75gr OTM, 69gr SMK, and M193.

Just a heads up, sometime early June I'll be going through the weapons parts I've had in storage, and I'll probably want to unload a few of them. Inovative Arms WAR uppers, for example...I know I have at least three of those. I've also have three of these... 12.5 inch 5.556 barrelslink.Anyway, some stuff's going to go up for sale.

WASR uppers? I'm always in the market for good deals on gun parts, especially AR parts. Post what you find I may buy some of it.
