On a serious note, What's the word on the Pmag 40 rounders? GTG? I'm thinking I want to tape two together. I ask because I haven't read any feedback on them, just hit and miss on the Surefire 60 rounders.

Damn you guys with your 40 Round Pmags....... There should have been a "Free Colorado" 40...... They should have been passed out like candy at the Magpul party in July.........

I'll probably get a few to try out, but I've been more headed in the other direction and using 20's more.
Anybody make pouches for 40's yet?

I wonder how far the 40s would stick out of standard mag pouches. You'd definitely be able to get a mag out quicker with the added height and room for your fingers to grab.

I still need to make an AR carrier of any size...... Just barely got my first formal request for one last week. I imagine anything with a flap top may have issues, the ones that use a bit of bungee and open tops should be fine. My OIF surplus carriers have a large length of extra bungee that would let you fit a lot of magazine in there.

I'm meh on fotays and thirties but magpuls new 20s are the heat. So far theyve worked with 300 , super and subs, 77gr otm, 40, 60, 75gr tap and 55 and 62gr fmj.
I also find lancer 20s to be Damn fine mags but they run $2 more.
Spends your money, take your chances.

YAY FAC! Is it wrong that I'm starting to head back toward 20rd's also? I think I've got enough 30rd's purchased pre-panic without looking like a dealer. The couple 40's I've got which are earlier Lancers, and they're mostly for show as I'm not a gamer. They just changed the laws for hunting, so now I can use the ol' poodle popper during our season, so I'm looking to make an ultralight with a 5/10rd mag. Still want to get a 300blk barrel for the AR pistol. All these wants. Also, as it's a FAC, I'm obligated to post a pic of: That is all.

The couple 40's I've got which are earlier Lancers, and they're mostly for show as I'm not a gamer. For general shooting like I said I mostly use 20's, so I'm the same way. Took this pic in January, added some lancers to the mag pile since then (I'm not spreading them out again). I think the count was like 140+ back then including the 6.8 SPC mags bunched up at the bottom. Now it's like 150 for AR mags. I've been getting into gaming a bit, so the 40's will come in handy. Also found a place that actually had a sale on BHP mags during the craziness, so I added those to the pistol mag pile. Down here they still have a 5 rd mag capacity for game that requires a tag (for me that's deer). So I only have one 5 rd mag. The deer I've taken have only required one rd so far, so it's not a big hindrance.

Browning - yeah, that's why I was looking to a 5/10 rd mag. I had the AR pistol out one year before I got a 20rd'er for it, and had a 30 downloaded to 5rds. Warden didn't quite know what to think about that, but it's their rules (we were pistol/shotgun in our zone) and if sumdude down the road can use a 7-08 Contender, why can I use an AR pistol?
He didn't have an answer either, but he thought the AR looked way cooler.

It's a 'pistol' so they'd kind of have to be okay with it.
My F-I-L hunts hogs with one of those .308 RRA's LAR-8's, but we often go out during deer season so he has to use a five rd mag during that time period.
He downloaded it to 5 rds on a 20 rd mag one year when he first got it and the game warden acted like he was giving him a pass on a life sentence. After that I just got him a couple 5-rounders from DSA so it wouldn't be an issue (it uses FAL mags).
