I'll take exactly zero credit for the creation of the word "extendo's" as it isn't by creation. But I will support the fuck out of it's common usage. I have an extra huge battery for my drills at work that I like to call my extendo battery.

After lugging this thing around for years on hunting trips I finally brought my procrastination to an end and bought a sling swivel for that MI Gen 1 rail. (I'll move it to a 9 o'clock behind the light whenever I get a sling so that it doesn't do that dump upside down deal, just have an old carry strap sling on there now) At any rate is there any new slings out there worth considering? Or is the Vickers CAS and A2 buttstock adapter still basically one of the better options? www.blueforcegear.com/vcas-acetal-sling.htmlwww.blueforcegear.com/a2-buttstock-adapter.html

I like the Ares Armory Husky slider sling , but in the end it seems like the same basic thing as the Vickers CAS. The adapter is more rifle specific that i have not needed yet.

After lugging this thing around for years on hunting trips I finally brought my procrastination to an end and bought a sling swivel for that MI Gen 1 rail. Piktur of MI rail wit sling-stud(I'll move it to a 9 o'clock behind the light whenever I get a sling so that it doesn't do that dump upside down deal, just have an old carry strap sling on there now) At any rate is there any new slings out there worth considering? Or is the Vickers CAS and A2 buttstock adapter still basically one of the better options? www.blueforcegear.com/vcas-acetal-sling.htmlwww.blueforcegear.com/a2-buttstock-adapter.htmlI tried a Vickers and did like it, much better than the VTAC that DM now has. The only gripe I had was that the sling itself wasn't thick around the neck, which may or may not be an issue for you depending on how you use/carry the weapon with the sling on. My current Huckleberry is the Ares Huskey Amentum Slider, which meets a lot of what I wanted without being overly complicated; runs about 45 but can be had cheaper if looking around: Do I find this overkill for a hunting sling? You bet - but it's easy to adjust, comfortable to wear/carry, and transitions are easy if I need to adjust to shoot around the tree from a stand. Vicker's design is close to this, but you swap the loop for a tag and you don't get the comfy neck strap. If I was shooting off sticks/support and just needed something to carry the rifle to/fro, I'd be happy with the Vickers for sure. Heck I'd be happy with a canvas/nylon strap. AFA sling points on my AR, I just went cheap/oldschool. I just doubled up some 550 through/around the FSB triangle and sling and laced my front strap through that, and at the rear I drilled a hole through the stock just under the buffer tube and looped 550 through it to put my rear sling point through. It's not pretty, but it is functional. Ideally I should just get one of these: www.blueforcegear.com/universal-wire-loop-uwl-3-25.html for the front, but I don't shoot enough in a hunting situation to worry about smoking the 550 cord. That and the 550 is quiet, which makes me happy. YMMV, these are my opin.

Well that makes two out of two for the Ares. I'll give it a look. Thank you. Wonder if it would work with that adapter for my A2 stock.

For the sling and adapters. I got a few cheap H&K style hooks i put on the sling and just click the hook to the d ring on an adapter. I got the one sling and 20 rifles to put it on. The AR's have the stock with slots in it for sling mounting , but the 10/22 uses the adapter kinda like the blueforce gear one. The adapter and hooks i got off amazon for a low cost since im cheap.

I usually have a padded VTAC sling on it, but here's an Ares Huskey attached to it: Or, if you wanted something a little quicker to remove, do like Red said and add a snaphook:
