Hey all, hoping any of the CZ 75 gurus out here can help me with a CZ 75 magazine question I have.
I just picked up a Tanfoglio TZ-75 CZ 75 clone from a pawn shop as a project gun, it has some rust and I wanted to try my hand at re-bluing it. While doing more research into it it turns out it is not compatible with CZ75B magazines, finding pre-b mags looks like it may be a pain in the ass.
Has anyone here ever modified the magwell of a pre b CZ or clone to accept CZ75B mags?

Call (321) 639-4842
That's EAA's number.
EAA (European American Armory) is the current importer of the Tanfoglio guns under the Witness label.
Supposedly they have magazines for the older FIE and Excam models (bought by EAA when those companies went under as importers) and supposedly most parts will still interchange.
I've never owned a pre-series 88, so this is just what I've heard on the net.

At one point there were two frame sizes, depending on caliber of the pistol, large and small frames. This is aside from a frame being full sized or compact. Each frames size uses different magazines. Somewhere in the early 2000's they consolidated to just using the large frame for all their pistols.
Run your serial number past Eaa and they can tell you what magazine fits your gun.
Currently McGar makes the OEM magazines for Tanfoglio, and I've had good luck picking them up by the case from CDNN Sports online.
There are a few other online sites to peruse now that you have what I've come to view as the "perfect"* pistol. Remind me later next week when I'm back stateside and I'll send you more info.
*perfect for me, at least.

The Mec-Gar CZ75B mags I ordered just came in, luckily they fit and feed dummy rounds just fine. Working the slide release on an empty Mec-Gar is virtually impossible though which is weird but not big deal. Need to take to the range, hopefully it feeds fine. I have the feeling I will catch the CZ bug after this.

[quote author=" homerj"I have the feeling I will catch the CZ bug after this.[/quote] Come on in and join us... If you can pick up a current model Tanfoglio aka EAA Witness you may enjoy the fact that you can swap through all of the following calibers with just a change of slide and barrel, or in some cases just the barrel- .22 LR .38 Super 9mm .40 cal 10mm .45 ACP Aside from flexibility and the neat-o novelty factor that means you can shoot all of those expenses with the exact same grip and trigger whether it's .22 for practice, 9mm or.45 for urban SD,.38 Super for competition, or 10mm for a woods load. Same trigger, same grip...

The only gripe I have with my TZ is not having enough slide purchase to grip to charge the pistol. It has a slide mounted safety/decocker like a 92fs which makes it even more awkward.

The only gripe I have with my TZ is not having enough slide purchase to grip to charge the pistol. It has a slide mounted safety/decocker like a 92fs which makes it even more awkward. I usually used to cant the pistol over more towards my left a bit more and grab the serrations and with a part of my Palm coming into contact with the rear sight to give me more leverage. Once running it on reloads I just use my left thumb to hit the slide stop. There's not a huge amount of slide to grab, but it gets it done.
