Schwinn I found in the trash. Excellent steel frame bike with the schwinn medal on the front. Lx400 components and a rack. The shifters grenaded after a $55 tune up. Then another $60 for new shifters. So all in $105 for an awesome bike. I'm going to mount a light, a pump and a saddle or two. I'll post when it all comes together.

Man you found that in the trash?!
I spent the better part of the summer trying out different bikes trying to decide where I wanted to go. Unfortunately I learned about cyclocross bikes at the end, so I had to start all over and ended up getting nothing. Lots of sales from last seasons bikes out there right now, we're just rapidly approaching snow season...

Nearly impossible to find that stuff in our area - for one it's frowned upon by the establishment, but more exactly we've got a LOT of scrappers that are constantly on the prowl, taking anything that's even remotely metallic. I saw one truck go by with an entire weight bench and bars last week - thought about flagging him down and offering him $10 for it. Bikes are hard to come by in a college town.
