The Police arrested sumdood in Kalifornia a little while ago....who was supposedly all jocked-up with gunz & explosives, and heading for some LGBT parade or some such.
I wonder if this is all connected to the worldwide "Ramadan offensive" against the infidels, that some of the head hajis have been calling for?

Hmm.....So the "worst mass shooting in the U.S." was perpetrated by a registered democrat? Read something awhile back, apparently that's a common thing among many active shooters. Many of them are Liberal Democrats, Marxist, hate Republicans and Christians and so on. |

I'm personally furious that our overly militarized fascist police had access to armored vehicles (which they used to assault the club and kill this asshole), and 'military grade' personal armor (which kept at least one officer's family from becoming widows and orphans). What a bunch of jack-booted thugs! Couldn't they have just used a non-lethal round to shoot the gun out of his hand?

Knowing it is an AS scenario, I have no problem with them being as protected as possible. As to non-lethal, I do not know enough about the situation nor the tactical layout of the building. Ranges for most non-lethal is drastically decreased. Also if the person is not instantly neutralized, he could have triggered other attack methods. Remember, they were searching the vehicle for IEDs. What if he had time to trigger it in the parking lot as the LEOs were entering the building? Bad news. But I also think this kind of gear should be limited. I don't expect to get pulled over for speeding by a LEO with full tactical gear, that would be an indication that they have gone too far. |

Concur, but to be fair, that shit's heavy, yo. Most of my police officer buddies will bitch nearly nonstop about how hot and miserable their routine patrol load out is on an awful summer day like we're having today. Doing speeding details in SWAT entry gear? Not gonna happen.
If you'll notice, police officers tend to dress in full battle rattle when they are responding to an actual (or likely-to-become) extraordinarily dangerous incident. Barricaded gunman? Check. Front-loading increased numbers of officers to a BLM function which they know will inevitably devolve into riots and looting? Check. Bicycle patrol during a summer festival? Not so much.
In about 5 minutes I could be far better armed than an officer on routine patrol, and if I bothered to spend some coin on armor I could be just as well armed and protected as our heaviest local SWAT guys. I personally think domestic LE should be at least as well armed as the population they are tasked with policing. Geared up cops look 'scary' the same way that some folks think an AR looks 'scary', but a cop with a patrol rifle, bump helmet, exterior plate carrier and skater pads doesn't scare me any more than a tricked out AR scares me.
Anyhoo, good on the good guys for taking care of business, and fuck the talking heads and politicians who are blaming this on anything other than the Muslim terrorist who perpetrated it.

Anybody else seeing these reports (admittedly from lesser sources) that some of the survivors are saying there were multiple shooters/assailants? That maybe one or two got away before the first responding units arrived? Not sure if I should get my tinfoil hat out, or if there may be something to it.
ETA: Here's sumdood claiming he heard two guns firing, and that there was someone holding a door and not letting people exit.....

That's a bit troubling and a possibility, but most will chalk it up to these people being in a terrifying and confusing situation in a dark nightclub where the booming sounds of rifle shots are echoing off the walls.
