I am holding off on the mount, til i determine which weapons system i'll be carrying. Would hate to be ready for a SAW, and someone shows up with a M60... US flex-mount system should handle most US ordinance, from SAW to Mk19. Amateurs. You go with a SAW or M240 on a skate ring on the cab roof over the passenger seat, and put a 60mm mortar in the bed of the truck. The MG let's you keep them at a good stand off distance, and the 60mm mortar eliminates them with minimal risk to you. Get really high-tech and have a couple of drones with mounted cameras to serve as FO.

Land Rover, yea. They make 'em for the Australian Army. 4x4 and 6x6 configurations; apparently, a pretty beefy way to get the kids to school.
I think I'll stay just a bit more "grey man" with my build. Just a bit.
(although the pintle mount probably wouldn't be too difficult to work up...)
ETA: and I already have my 13 year old pretty well trained in drone operation, so that would be pretty easy to add.

Right. So, i should be going for a look like this? At least i will probably be able to work my way into traffic a little easier. What is the base vehicle? A Defender with the roof hacked off? I could care less about the M2HB on the roof, but I'm drooling over the rest of it. Yeah, a Mk19 is just so much more... Practical.

Or something like this... This beast belongs to a fella who leases a deer tract from us and keeps his toys on our property. Doubt his wife knows

After 2 years I finally got some mud tires for my work truck. Mastercraft MXTs. Same tires are on 2 of our older trucks and just kick ass in the woods. I also added a leveling kit, so hopefully I can stop dragging my bumper lip up and over big holes and ruts. I am stoked, only took the metal band sticking out of my old street tires for the boss to OK my new treads.

All well and good, but don't forget to put in a roof hatch so you can lob propane tanks into the hordes as needed. Might I also suggest some retaining pins/safety bolts to keep the chainsaws inside their tracks.

It already has 2 skylights, I'll have to see if the tanks fit through. I was going to use the south african theft deterrent system, flamethrowers under the side panels. LOL

LOL If you really want to mess with people's heads, get a graphic for "XYZ Funeral Homes" put on one side of the vehicle, and in the exact same style and color a different graphic for the other side...this time saying "XYZ Delicatessen and Meats".

OK, the purchasing of the bus is NOT going to happen. He wouldn't come down and after a 15 minute inspection, there was no way I was going to pay what he wanted. Rust was everywhere that wasn't plastic. Even the fuel tank was starting to flake.
I guess I keep looking.

Well I finally said "F*ck it!" and made the purchase I've been mulling over for about 2 years. 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser with only 35K on the odometer is now in my possession. Need to sexy it up with some accessories... lift kit, tires, push bumper, snorkel, etc. Next time I get down to see OM, I'm sure he'll post pics (since I do not post pics). Here is a link to an online pic to give an idea: images.gtcarlot.com/pictures/75670095.jpgAlso need to pick up jerry cans from Lexington Container: www.lexingtoncontainercompany.com/Nato-Jerry-Cans.html
