Unfortunately, ISIS has become a thorn in the side of many nations, but, I think that is largely our fault (or the executives branches) for not taking action sooner (or at all, for that matter), but, ISIS may have bitten off more than they can chew... It was always in their plans to take Israel, but, messing with a culture that is largely only existant in Syria and Israel, may have been a bad move...Israel is not afraid of ISIS/ISIL, as the other muslim nations are, as Israel doesn't have a large population of radicals to turn against them...so, Israel has everything to gain by messing with ISIS and stomping a mud-hole in their ass before they get any bigger, and ISIS/ISIL may have just given them a reason. The ONLY thing stopping Israel from jumping the gun, is that are/have been a war weary nation,... ISIS attack Druze culture in Syria

From what I understand from reading a few articles on ISIS that included excerpts from strategists familiar with the Jihadi mindset ( which of course makes me an expert on them right ) their whole strategy is to take on the U.S., Europe/NATO as well as Russia in Dagestan to establish themselves as *THE* premier Sunni extremist group. They're puritans wanting to take a war to the West in both the conventional sense, with terrorism and by establishing a caliphate on earth to serve Allah. That was their main beef with Al Qaeda even though they're an outgrowth of AQ in Iraq, that they didn't permanently plant their flag anywhere. They don't necessarily have to win to earn their ticket to paradise.

That's part of it. But as with the Moorish conquests, they want the world to be Islamic. Yeah, that's definitely part of their doctrine too. ISIS seems to be using the Muslim playbook from the 7th and 8th centuries with this whole convert to Islam or we'll cut your head off or crucify you thing. These days what their standard tactics seems to consist of is ... •Colonizing Western or Asian countries by immigrating as refugees while pretending that they're tolerant and that they aren't radical. •Getting set up on social services. •Establish a public relations and legal organization (like CAIR) to both claim that they aren't doing anything wrong while simultaneously suing anyone who opposes their agenda in court. •Prophetizing to the young in their new homeland. •Intimidating the native population that isn't open to their message into moving out of THEIR city and into the outlying areas. •Intimidating the local restaurants in the area to quit serving pork and force others to cater to them in other small ways or at least consider their reaction. •Preying on the native population in criminal gangs in regard to robbery, theft and raping local girls if they aren't wrapped in a sheet and accompanied by a male family member. •Then once they've established themselves into an area within that country/city and established themselves as a majority then out come the ' Sharia will dominate the world' signs. •Convert or die, your choice. Usually these days the convert or die tactic is usually saved until later and it's the last item on the list. ISIS hops to that immediately because they're already in their own lands, already established a majority of the population and they feel that Sharia is already in effect. Just saying...they seem to have a bit of Götterdämmerung type ideology intertwined into their thinking where they want a final battle to take it all or go down in flames.
