This is what happens to people who get into writing firearms/product reviews. They get free stuff, paid and other ego stroking episodes to hawk useless and expensive gear. Yupe, this is the dumbest and most expensive product I've ever seen. Let's examine the retardation that is supposed to help a non-existant issue. (Other than to make them money off of bobble heads. "Yeah, I got this $200 GEMTECH cover to cover my $150 suppressor mount that mounts my $1000 can that I should be running anyway because it reduces flash and sound but now I'm running something that does the exact opposite.")
1. Muzzle brakes can't be covered if they're going to work as brakes. They work by redirecting gasses, if you cover them you're only redirecting gasses forward pushing straight back into your shoulder thus increasing felt recoil.
2. It increases muzzle blast forward of the shooter making the blast emit staight in front of the shooter. HERP. Why not just take the device off, the muzzle blast is about the same.
3. This thing cost $200. R U KITTEN ME RIGHT MEOW? For a cover for a muzzle device. Hey, you know, a wrench costs $10ish at lowes and you can swap muzzle devices at courses. It takes about a minute and A2 flash hiders cost $6.
4. Before you say krink brake or noveske pig those are designed to push gas back into the action to increase gas into the operating system and push blast forward. Which still sucks. Seriously, go to a range with someone running either off those, they're really concussive. Pushing blast forward DOES NOT help, still loud, still concussive and still flashy.
Now, on to the gun writers. Seriously, stop hawking crap that doesn't work and is expensive just so you can sound cool writing about it and get free stuff for doing it. Especially when you call bullshit on so much other stuff.
