Apologies, I started this thread under the admin.
Anyway, this look pretty neat. I've previously talked about "hot" spots with the AR but I've never had hard data. This company seems to be on the right track. I didn't realize the gas tube was the hottest part. This seems like a good solution for the heat issue with the AR-15. As least the hottest part of it.

Couldn't find anything specifically about the M4 gas tube, but the company did have a drawing of their thermal barrier pipe. Looks like it's a thin vacuum gap between the inner and outer tubes: link

Hm. This looks like it might be trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. I can't imagine a situation where any of my own ARs would be subjected to sustained full-auto firing, but I can't really see how this would hurt anything either. AR-15s / M16s / M4s have seen a lot of action in the last 50 years, and I think stories of them bursting into flames are relatively sparse.
