From reading the OP I was going to recommend a Nikon for lower end or a Trijicon Accupoint or a Zeiss Conquest higher end. Had good luck with those 3.
That scope sounds pretty good though.
On a different note SWFA is actually down in Red Oak near here and they're staffed completely with longer range shooters. Every optic I've bought since I've moved down here to TX has come from them. Not to much of what they sell is trash.

I've ordered all my scopes from them. They always have the best price and samplelist.com is the titties. About 50% of my scopes have come from sample list.

Dang. I like the looks of that Burris 5x36 fixed, just get all the tactical rail crap off of it. That would make for an awesome quick sight scope for the poodle popper.
Also another SWFA shopping fan - never knew about samplelist, that could get me in trouble.
