Okay, so the second one (the one with the dog) is incorrect.
I wasn't sure since the 300y pic on both has the target towards the bottom to account for drop.
Thanks.
Have to play with that EOTech at longer ranges one of these days. I've always just grabbed a rifle with a scope on it if I was going to be shooting farther than a couple hundred yards. My closest range is limited to 100 yards, there's another one a little further out that has a 200 y range and that's it for a 75 mile radius.
While I could shoot out at one of our leases as far as I want I usually drive out there to hunt (would scare the game away). I don't want to drive a couple hundred miles just to shoot.

I zero my red dots at 36 yds. This gives me a -2.5" at 7 yds, -1 @ 25, zero at 36, +3 at 100, +2 at 200, -5 at 300 yds and -21 @ 400. Pretty flat until 400 so if a shot is that far you place the dot at head level. This is for the 77 Gr OTM moving at 2700FPS. handloads.com/calc This one is the correct zero with the EoTECH. Remember, that many people still use the old M1 sighting system specs (as does most of the military) because that's what the ranges are marked off at-- 25, 50, etc. With the 5.56, a 36 meter zero is the way to go. Do try out the EoTECH. I prefer them over all the other systems I've shot. And yes, I run the 512 for the inexpensive batteries. I can find AA anywhere.

Just picked up a used ACOG at a pawn shop for $300, it passed my checks for being a clone, had the SNs where they were supposed to be and everything. It was just beat to hell though paint comming off all over the place and the tritium is dead.
Will send it back to Trijicon to replace the tritium as soon as I make sure the thing holds zero.

IMO, the ACOG is the best combat optic. I am really happy with the Primary Arms 4x prism, but I will feel complete in life when I have an ACOG/RCO back on one of my rifles. Should have tried to "liberate" one from the 'Corps when I had the chance...

Thanks all! It is pretty beat up though, but surprisingly clear even though the glass is pretty scratched. Gotta love living in an Army town, I have had some great luck, got a London Bridge Trading Plate carrier for $100, an ACH for $25. Omega the bad thing about liberated ACOGs is when it comes time to get your tritium changed as I am finding out. I am doing some research guys are saying that they have had their 2nd hand ACOGs confiscated after sending in requests for shipping labels on the Trijicon website, their SNs come up hot and they get a visit and loose their ACOG without being reimbursed. I think I am going to call to see if mine will come up hot, I hope mine will be ok most of the pawn shops here are pretty good about checking to see if stuff is govt property, mine dosent even have an NSN and has a pretty low SN so I am hoping this one is gtg. If not it is still pretty bright with the fiber optics and clear enough. Now I just need to get an PSA upper and lower down the road to make an M4orgery.

I was playing with this last night and luckily the tritium is still bright enough to be useable at night glad I won't have to mess with returning it for a while, I would hate to have to hand over this score.
Anyone have an upper for sale (with or without BCG/charging handle)?

I would prefer a 16" carbine. Does anyone here have any experience with PTAC?

Anyone have an upper for sale (with or without BCG/charging handle)? That's good. I just assume that all used gear around military bases are "liberated" items, lol! When my Marines would be missing gear, I would suggest the local flea markets...never had to fill out missing gear statement And I second B35, check out BCM and grab an upper while they are still offering free BCG's.

Thats probably a fair assumption lol I try to collect two of everything so when I ETS I am not hurting.
That is a great deal on the BCM too bad they are out of stock.

Vortex is pretty good. Clear. They used to be a better value before they upped the prices to twice what the Nikons are while having the same exact clarity.

Vortex is pretty good. Clear. They used to be a better value before they upped the prices to twice what the Nikons are while having the same exact clarity. Exactly so. Vortex has essentially three lines, one made in China, one made in Japan, and a third that supposedly used to use European glass that was assembled in Japan. The upper end Nikon and Vortex should both be Japanese made, I'm not sure if Vortex is still sourcing European glass for their top end scopes and spotters. I'd wager not. I have an older middle ground Vortex that was chinese made with japanese glass on my 22LR, and I love it. At the time I felt it was a good value, now I'd have more competition in the price range. With all this talk of Triji, man oh man would I love to pony up for a nice Triji scope like B35's. I'm just too cheap and complacent with sub par glass to really plop the cash down on some great glass - I just can't justify it with the distances I hunt at (sub 100yrds). Some day I'll get an ACOG or equivalent, someday.
