Oh, Happy #hetrosexualprideday ! What I find hilarious about the above is not the day, but the amount of downright HATE coming from the "party of tolerance". Also in other news, top items on the DNC platform. $15/hr Min wage. (sigh, simple economic anyone?). Abortions for whoever wants them, whenever. And a repeal of the death penalty, because it's murder. You know?
I mean what the hell is wrong with that side of the isle...

Heard about this one on the radio, and just had to look it up..... I was fired from my internship for writing a proposal for a more flexible dress codeI was able to get a summer internship at a company that does work in the industry I want to work in after I graduate. Even though the division I was hired to work in doesn’t deal with clients or customers, there still was a very strict dress code. I felt the dress code was overly strict but I wasn’t going to say anything, until I noticed one of the workers always wore flat shoes that were made from a fabric other than leather, or running shoes, even though both of these things were contrary to the dress code.
I spoke with my manager about being allowed some leeway under the dress code and was told this was not possible, despite the other person being allowed to do it. I soon found out that many of the other interns felt the same way, and the ones who asked their managers about it were told the same thing as me. We decided to write a proposal stating why we should be allowed someone leeway under the dress code. We accompanied the proposal with a petition, signed by all of the interns (except for one who declined to sign it) and gave it to our managers to consider. Our proposal requested that we also be allowed to wear running shoes and non leather flats, as well as sandals (not flip-flops though) and other non-dress shoes that would fit under a more business casual dress code. It was mostly about the footwear, but we also incorporated a request that we not have to wear suits and/or blazers in favor of a more casual, but still professional dress code.
The next day, all of us who signed the petition were called into a meeting where we thought our proposal would be discussed. Instead, we were informed that due to our “unprofessional” behavior, we were being let go from our internships. We were told to hand in our ID badges and to gather our things and leave the property ASAP.
We were shocked. The proposal was written professionally like examples I have learned about in school, and our arguments were thought out and well-reasoned. We weren’t even given a chance to discuss it. The worst part is that just before the meeting ended, one of the managers told us that the worker who was allowed to disobey the dress code was a former soldier who lost her leg and was therefore given permission to wear whatever kind of shoes she could walk in. You can’t even tell, and if we had known about this we would have factored it into our argument.
I have never had a job before (I’ve always focused on school) and I was hoping to gain some experience before I graduate next year. I feel my dismissal was unfair and would like to ask them to reconsider but I’m not sure the best way to go about it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Snowflake Intern SHOCKED After Being Fired for Requesting a Relaxed Dress Code
To be fair, the intern seems legitimately confused rather than enraged about the firing, perhaps showing that she has some class. Nonetheless, she is obviously out-of-touch with how the real world works and is WAY too entitled for a simple summer intern. Never should a group of interns gang up on management with a written petition and expect a positive response.
Intern Fired for Dress Code Petition Is the Case Against Social Justice Education
I don't want to make too much of a single anecdote—it doesn't actually tell us whether millennial workers are more likely than other workers to act entitled. But the intern's justification of his actions is illustrative. This is what he learned in school: if you don't like your company's policies, create a petition or organize against management. As if that's how professional people in the private sector handle disagreements.
Perhaps an education in social justice activism is not as valuable as university planners want their students to believe it is.
It's also quite funny that these socially conscious interns didn't immediately recognize the one actually marginalized person in the situation: the disabled veteran.

I think (and I could be way off base) the problem was the petition. If they had stuck with a proposal, they may have a shot. I do however understand her/his frustration. I worked once in a call center. The General Manager was from Chicago and was a firm believer in "If you dress professionally, you'll act professionally." witch is fine. My (Our) issue came when she summarily decided no Cotton. Yup, that's right. We're in the south, 90* degrees outside and she wants us in fabric that wouldn't breath. We had about 2 weeks with all the local managers putting pressure on her and she relented on the no cotton rule... No petition, no strike, just letting her get used to the heat in Charleston in the summer...

Why can't I have a day? You know, I've known people that hate gays but I've never seen the hate they say is happening. And in just the past week two stories have come up where as gay faked beatings. Yes, they beat themselves then claimed victimhood. So, IDK.... Sorry, I'm breaking my rule, abortion is murder. Plain and simple. IF we found 2 cells reproducing on Mars we'd move heaven and Earth to go have a look but in a womb? Nope, kill it. MAKES NO SENSE.
Repeal the death penalty? Well, when you truly earn it, yeah.
I really think liberalism is a mental disorder. 90% makes absolutely no sense and 100% of it is a suicide pact with bumper sticker slogans.

Chicago Police Prepare for July 4 Weekend Violenceabcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/chicago-police-prepare-july-weekend-violence-40285506After a month in which nearly 15 people were shot every day, Chicago Police announced a July 4 weekend show of force that will include thousands more officers on the streets, officers toting high-powered weapons at airports and teams of officers patrolling the city's most dangerous neighborhoods, tourist attractions, train stations and parks.
"I'm sick and tired and I know that the people living in those communities are tired of it (the gun violence)," said Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson on Friday. "If it takes 5,000 officers over the weekend, then it takes that."
Johnson made a similar announcement before the Memorial Day weekend that ended with shootings that left six people dead and 56 others wounded. But on Friday, Johnson said the city had added a number of crime fighting initiatives, including a new policy starting Friday that allows more officers to work overtime. And he pointed to efforts to target the 1,400 people who have been identified as most likely to be suspects or victims of gang violence — including two raids in the last several days that led to more than 100 arrests.....
....According to the department's crime statistics, June ended with 72 homicides and 447 shooting victims, bringing the homicide tally in Chicago to 315 so far this year. That is more than 100 more than the total for the same period last year and puts the city on pace for more than 600 homicides in a year for the first time since 2003.
