I'm assgined to a fire station with 7 other guys. All of us are meat-heads who will readily consume most any food in vast quantities. We always do supper together, but we had to stop doing breakfast (with the exception of weekends) because it turns out that having a giant fire house breakfast every day makes you:
A) Go into a coma in your recliner, and B) Get fat
So, supper. I share cook duties with about 3 other guys, but I'm in a rut. I'm looking for recipe and meal suggestions. Requirements are...
1. Makes a bunch. 2. Is relatively cheap. 3. Makes a bunch.
My standby's are lasagna, jambalaya, chicken fried rice, enchiladas, fajitas, chili (of course) and a few other similar dishes. Other guys have other specialities, but those are the one's I generally make. I'm decent in the kitchen, have all day to do the cooking when I'm on shift, and have plenty of help, so if it's an involved dish that shouldn't be a problem.
So... Suggestions!

Huge mounds of crawfish seasoned with Franks creole seasoning and butter, potatoes and huge ears of corn on the cob. Spread out newspaper all over the kitchen table like tiles on a roof so that you roll it all up and chuck it in the trash and the only dishes to do are the pots. Love that stuff. Gotta know how to cook and then eat it though. Edit : Also need lemon. Almost forgot that and it's mandatory.

I like the idea of a crawfish boil! I don't know where you can get them around here, though, and they might be seasonal at that. Southern Indiana isn't exactly a hotbead of regional cuisine... I'll investigate further. Throw in some cornbread and I think that would be a winner with the guys.

Pizza is always Yammy. Our local grocery always has dough pre made. Add toppings to suit. You can be eating an awesome meal in under 30. We use zucchini, red peppers, tomatoes etc. Lightly fry the zucchini and red peppers in Olive oil and garlic, well a little more than lightly. Throw some mozzarella on top and back @ 400 until golden. Just use one topping at a time. Everyone loves this. We use publix dough. I'll ask my wife for some other recipes.

Get some inexpensive beef like a chuck roast or flank steak and cut into 1-2lb chunks. Make a marinade of equal parts; olive oil, soy sauce, honey, and a double portion of red wine vinegar, then add in 1. tbsp minced garlic 2. 1 tbsp black pepper 3. half a white onion. Marinate the beef for 24-48 hours. Heat up a thick pan on high heat and coat the side of the meat you are about to sear with sea salt and black pepper. Sear for 4 minutes then coat and sear the other side. Then wrap in tin foil for 10 minutes. Take the meat out of the tin foil and cut diagonally against the grain. Then serve immediately.
This goes good with salad, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, etc.

Pulled pork. Cook a pork shoulder at 300 for about 6 hours---pull meat apart with a fork (or hands) and add some BBQ sauce. Serve on buns with cole slaw & French Fries. Cole Slaw---shred a cabbage and add 1/4 cup sugar and a cup of mayo (adjust to cabbage head size) and 2 tbsp vinegar. mmmmmm....
