No. Just - no.
All backpacks should be equipped with a lexan flask of scotch. Or bourbon for the heathens.

Or moonshine for us Hillbillys Slightly off topic as this thread is about beer and if someone objects I'll nuke the question but how close is moonshine to everclear? Only thing I've had that I thought might be similar. Other than that my only exposure to moonshine is seeing the same movies as everyone else where they're sipping it from mason jars and flasks. I know a shitload of rednecks (I'm slightly rednecky myself despite being from So Cal originally), but rednecks don't usually have moonshine. That's solely the province of hillbillies and so I always wondered.

While not a drinker of any note, I find Everclear to be more harsh than the 'shine I've had. I like the flava' of 'shine over the chemically processed flavor of Everclear.
That stated, if anyone cares to notice B35 has hit the word filter a few times. That's the ***** dealio. It's not a violation to hit the word filter, because the filter is working. However, we still don't allow racism or racial rants about races. No, I will not say hate speech because that's too damn PC for me. Just don't bash people based on the race, culture or ethnicity. It's just not cool.
As you'll notice, B35 was just using the word and not disparaging anyone. Game the hell on.
And to just further the discussion, is r3dneck an offensive word? I genuinely don't know but I imagine it's the context of it's use. I ask because I generally just call everyone sir or ma'am.

Cool, thanks. I'd actually like to try some at some point.
I didn't think it was sold legally but I looked it up online on the off chance that it is and it's actually available a couple different places.
- On the other....It depends on who's using it and how it's used. It can be offensive, but many around here take on the title themselves as kind of a 'Fuck You' and because they think it funny.

Too me, shine should have a nice, almost sweet corny flavor. I think it's way less stringent than everclear (which is dangerous when mixed with purple soda "drank", but I digress). Although, sometimes it can taste like pure JP-8! Which doesn't bother me too much, either.

Yeah, everclear's pretty stout. Takes your breath away. Only thing I have to compare it too.
At any rate I think I'm gonna order some for XMas just to try it out. I'm not much of a drinker these days except for with dinner if we go to a steakhouse or in deer camp after the guns go away for the night.

Much prefer shine over clear. In fact I can't stand clear at all, but I'll take well done shine every chance I can. Then boys (and girls) down in Kentuck can make a wonderful mason jar. Toss a cinnamon stick in it and NOMNOM-thud!
Someone used to make a full corn white liquor that was fantastic - not quite to the level of shine, but it was amazing. I'll ask my buds in the know who made it, I think it's still around.
(BTW, anyone else notice GM purposely side-stepped the filter? FO'SHAME!!!! *points an accusing finger*)

I've had it. The Pale Ale is okay, a bit hotter and more bitter than I might like but drinkable. Perhaps if it were allowed to sit overnight in a container that would keep it from going flat it might be better. The "Black Hops"......ack. Just ack.
