Okay, I'm about tired of having my kids in a tent. The thing is heavy @ 5lbs, takes up a bunch of space and requires a set up that I'm not liking. I have hammocks for them but I'm looking at underquilts. I'll keep the sleeping bags I'm using but I think I can get them both under one tarp in two different hammocks. I think I can shave 3lbs by switching from the bulky tent to the compact hammock set up.
Anyway, I'm spitballing here. Thoughts? Comment? Advice? Both like my hammock set up and with an underquilt/over quilt I think they'll be more than warm.

Most kid's sleeping bags are square profile full cut, and are synthetic. If they're of any decent size, and you're handy with the sewing machine, why not make them into peapods for the hammocks?
Sew in a slot at the foot end to pass the end of the hammock through, then sew in a shock cord collar at the other end with a ball lock or some kind of stopper. That way they can bunch it down by their feet when they want to get out, and pull it up to their shoulders when they want to sleep, and tighten the shock cord so that it doesn't move down.
Shock cord works best because if they need to kick it off, they can easily, or they can tighten it up if they're cold.
Gives the benefit of letting you use equipment you already own, and keeps "rollers" relatively contained in the event of a mid-air somersault.
Just spitballing, boss.

GBM, you know I love ya bro. But I don't see your kids wanting to hammock (at least in the winter) for another few years. Why? 2 words: Ceramic heater. Honestly, if I was you, I would try to start them in the late spring/early summer when it's nice out so they can get the feel of hanging. I know you have several hammocks and you could just throw them up and see if they are willing to crawl in them and sleep. Also it will save you a bunch of money worrying about under/over quilts if they decide they don't want to hang. I'm sure Newt wouldn't mind it since she would actually have covers in the morning (You know what I'm talking about) It's only 4-5 months away, I'd say be patient and let them get the feel of hanging when it's nice out. If it doesn't work out, I guess they need to start carrying that tent That may change their minds
