What bad weather or weather related incidents do you have going on? --------------------------------- Ice storm hit here in Texas last night. Power went out at 03:30 and hasn't come back on. Went out to get coffee and fire logs, only place that was open was Walmart. Every place else was closed. Gas stations, McDonalds, Starbucks (even though I don't usually go there)...everywhere. Finally just got the fire logs and came back. The street behind us has a dozen trees down because of the freeze. Just made a mess.     Only saw one car that got hit. Finally got back and just heated water on my propane camp stove and just used a French coffee press to make it.  Power guy came by and looked at the transformer, didn't know when it's going to be back up. |

Stay safe Browning. Don't drive on the icy roads if you don't have to do it. In PA we had a saying, 4wd may get you out on the roads if it's snowy, but on ice everyone has no brakes. When the power guys come back and put the lines back up, offer to take some of the wood if they cut it up. Just put it in your yard and throw a small tarp over it so it dries out for next year  If you don't mind me asking, what part of TX? My sis lives in Houston area. |

Dallas. From what I understand Houston got the ice storms almost as bad as we did. I know their airport got shut down and a bunch of people missed their flights. So it's bad enough I have 4-wheel drive, I know how to drive on snow ice, I take my time and I still don't really go out unless I have to. That's true on the brakes. The local FD's been busy, I keep hearing them drive past the house going code. Wife called earlier and I guess while she was at a light driving to work this morning a transformer blew up at the corner. I don't know what the deal is, but every year we've been here that happens at least once a winter. Power finally came back on like half an hour ago. House is starting to warm up again. I really need to go buy another generator. Had one and when my old partner had to move with his family into a trailer on his M-I-L's property I sold it to him. This is the South, this isn't supposed to happen here. You guys catching any of this? |

No snow on the ground, the lawn is a little "crunchy". Sure is easy picking up dog poop, though.

Damn, it was 80 in Columbia today. I had swamp ass. It's 72 right now at 745pm.
Sunday is suppose to be raining and 44 but since this is Cola, well, it could be 100.
