A Message to Police

IMHO, there will always be good cops and bad cops and a video made by someone isn't going to change a bad cop into a good cop. They have already drunk the cool-aid and there's no going back.  They deal with the dredges of society and then when they encounter someone who isn't, they still end up treating them the same since that's all they see all day long.

She mentions the Nuremberg Trails and the defendants using the defense of "I was just following orders" and how they were held accountable for their actions anyway. Then there's the other side of a coin, when given a direct order and you don't follow it, you could be brought up on charges of "disobeying a direct order" even though the individual considers it an "unlawful order".   During times of war it could be worse, Treason or Sedition charges depending on the circumstances. It's a catch 22, damned if you do, damned if you don't.  BTW, treason is punishable by death, so don't expect to see a jury during wartime.

One of the definitions of Sedition from www.thefreedictionary.com/sedition is "(Law) an offence that tends to undermine the authority of a state".  So any LEO who doesn't enforce the laws on the book could potentially be brought up on this charge.  The reason: by not upholding the laws on the books, you do not recognize the state or federal government's authority to make laws.

Sure they could just quit their job as she suggests, but with the economy the way it is, I don't see this happening.  And if they all the good cops would quit what would that leave us?  Yup, only bad cops.

Let's take this a step further.  Why weren't all of the axis personnel charged for their atrocities?  We gave a free ride to scientists since we wanted what was in their brains.  NASA was a direct result of Werner Von Braun's work with V1 and V2 rockets which killed hundreds of innocents.  Japan's scientists were doing biological warfare experiments on the Chinese people.  We welcomed them into the US so we would have the knowledge they had accumulated through the atrocities of their testing on the Chinese populous to further our own biological warfare programs.


TL;DR

A video isn't changing anything.  History is written by the victors.
