Thanks, Browning. I've never shot with any other serious gun freaks so I never know where I stack up, good to hear I didn't embarrass myself considering we have some really talented shooters on this board. You're fine. I've actually had a couple different instructors from two different schools who've said that they rather that students didn't prep before a course as it's easier to train. If you have bad habits (which almost all shooters do) all you're doing is ingraining them further which make them harder to train out. Heard that same bit from a couple different instructors, but I don't know if that's true or what. :Shrug Everybody does that. Slap it midline over the torso. Saves money. - Just so pics of guns or videos/pics of people with guns are going up (pic thread and all) here's a pic I found of my dad with his .50 caliber Hawken at one of Jeff Coopers Big Bear rendezvous. That was one of the trips I went. 1980 or '81 I think.

I've heard that from instructors and others as well. I definitely need to start setting some ammo and cash aside and getting a little cardio in before a serious course. I'm young and in not bad shape and even a low intensity 8hr class in 94 degrees was killing me. I'm sure I have quite a few bad habits to break, too.
Very cool photo. I love older photos they seem to have more character. Looks like a fun trip.

Cool. Yeah, a training partner that knows his shit is invaluable. I wouldn't be where I am today without Gingerbread Man. I like USPSA targets. Target barn has some cool targets. www.targetbarn.com/cardboard-targets.php

Going through my EDC/CCW options: Work is easy, I can carry whatever I want in my truck and on the property (in fact, a truck rifle is almost mandatory. Hell, last year I built ARs for my interns and a grad student on the condition they always had them in their trucks ). But, I've been getting 'lax in going to town. The impending birth of my daughter has this soon-to-be-daddy in hyper-protector mode. Oh, the choices...

I see a ' Tactical Diaperbag' in your future Omega. (It's a bit ghey, but my we were using this floral print bag my wife bought that was fucking horrible and that I hated. No shoulder strap, no nothing. Plus since we're nearing the end of potty training now I can just use the bag for ammo, a med kit or whatever. That floral print thing she bought for $60 or $80 ended up splitting and wound up in the trash a long time ago.
Had to carry my sons stuff in something.:Shrug)

I knew it.
At least you're more prepared than I was, I ended up with that floral thing for like a week before it was like Fuck this and got this other bag.

No, Kevin has a Maverick 88 which is a pedestrian 5 shot pump. That, my friend, is an O/U made in Turkey. I wanted a some Spainish one that was going to run me $550ish. But this one is an ATf seizure and it looks like it. I looked at it and it has a bunch of scratches all over it. I asked what was the best price they could do and it was $199. The exact same gun was next to it for $500.
I'm quite pleased.

I'm not, they work and generally do it very well. But Kevin bought it while he was dreaming of a Benelli and thinking bird shot was the heat.
