Hmm.
You know, some folks on my island just set up a pretty damn decent shooting club with separate pistol, rifle, and shotgun ranges. They've held shoots running from bench type competition to some mildly practical/tactical/defensive stuff. Nothing truly serious from what I've been told, but the folks organizing stuff obviously aren't anti defensive carbine/pistol.
Wonder if anyone would be interested in cutting them a deal for a weekend course....

We are in the slow process of building a bermed range here on the plantation, but I don't know about the liability aspects of a group here for a shooting class. Might not be kosher, and understandibly so, with the board. I know Mid-Carolina has been a pain to deal with for classes.
Maybe something to shoot for (pun intended) this upcoming year? As long as crypto doesn't attend...

As long as crypto doesn't attend... I've taken two classes with Crypto/Chris, and he is either fairly cool or an utter douche, and I'm never sure which he plans on being at any given second. I'm fine with banning him...  I've got a good range in my AO, has a shoot house, 7 different bermed ranges, and freedom of movement as long as you're not being an asshat. How far are you guys willing to travel if I try and set something up with Dave and doc? Evansville, IN will be the place, hit the googles to see drive distance and time. Plenty of modest rate hotels in the area, and I'm happy to introduce you all to a couple of fine brewpubs for end of day refreshments. I've already talked with the board members who decide such things at my range, and there are a few minor hoops to jump through, but that's about it. IN is close to me! I vote Indy!  Edit - Holy crap, it's the bottom of Indy! I usually head to Cairo to go hunt, and that's a drive! Still better than heading to SC from here, that's a whole lot more than 8hrs... |

Wolcottville IN was a 13 hour drive for me last year. I do not think i will join the weekend class unless its around an unknown time that i will be out there to pick up the miss.

Wish I could go  Thunder Ranch is right up the way a bit, but unfortunately I'm not a millionaire. Their classes are several thousand and you can only use lead free ammo, IIRC. Jesus Christ. I can barely afford a $300 class using Tula. |

Driving to SC wouldn't be much farther for me than driving to the Missouri class last year (or the year before?). Either one would be a cool place. |
