Who is the idiot that put a second battery in their vehicle? This GUY!!
I'm not worried about keeping electronics charged right now, but I am going to drive by Harbor Freight and check out the jerry cans. Not NATO, but still better than nothing. Gas has gone up dramatically since I went to DragonCon and just got back. I know I have some fuel stabilizer in the garage. During Matthew (which really wasn't bad), LEOs were monitoring all gas stations that had fuel to sell. Just look for the flashing blue lights to buy gas!
Water, yea I have 21 cases of 16oz bottles (5 gallons per case) and another 10 cases of 6-1 gallon jugs. I think I can put a check mark through that box.

Went up to the farm to check-out the old hurricane shelter (LOL. It's only about 300 yards away). Haven't had to use it since '05. My Uncle told me he checked it out a couple months ago, and everything was still working. He usually does that once a year, and exercises the genny every couple of months. Just a 6' x 6' shed, between the dairy barn and tractor barn. The dairy barn has a little block room added to it, which houses the generator... Open the door and you can see the elevator.... Fold away ladder and hatch, JIC the elevator goes tits-up.... Yeah, that's a window AC mounted to the door for the shelter proper. It's usually around 65° F to 70° F down there, but you put six people in the room and it will warm up quickly. Room at the very back has a toilet and sink...

OM, please tell me you have plans to GTFO if needed. Models shifted again and looking like landfall near you with cat 3-4 winds. But we all know this can change.

Rick, That looks like a very nice cold war era fallout shelter. Does it have air filtration, by any chance?

Well, crap. Based on current projections it looks like the eye of Irma is going to pass within 5-10 miles of my father's place in Florida. Here's to hoping it downgrades quite a bit before then, but I'm not holding my breath.

Looks like he got lucky. Lost the patio/carport roof on one side of the house, but the home itself seems to have remained weather tight.
Good luck to those of you who are still due to be hit with Irma, even as she looses steam. Stay safe.
BTW, I think it's time to relocate the stuff I'd left with him for safekeeping over the years I've been out of the country. Not sure how I'm going to go about that. Maybe do some online hunting for storage places out in central Idaho?

Glad your pops wasn't hit any worse than he was. I know it's still a major disaster, but seems like Irma wasn't near as bad as it could have been. By mid-week we'll be benefiting from a few days of much needed showers in my AO thanks to this particular storm.

I agree, it looks like this beast of a hurricane is letting us off with a lot less damage than it could have done to us. It's a shame the rain from this and Harvey couldn't have hit the AO's with wildfires up in the NW.
