I gave up moving her every night. It's a fenced yard so no predators, and if she feels safer hanging out staring at me eating toast, eggs and morning coffee... meh... so be it... lol Does she feel 'safer' watching you eat those eggs, scbrian? Or is she determining patterns. Plotting. Biding her time...

Yea, we have a "no farm animals" clause. I got on the board for a while, and tried to knock a lot of the REALLY stupid stuff out, to no avail. Oh well. We are stuck here for at least 5 more years, after that I am moving to a cabin in the woods. Ah well. Fact of the matter is, human beings are awful creatures, and HOA rules are in place so some jackass doesn't move a herd of cows next door to you (or 20 junked cars, or a dozen or so unneutered pit bulls, or an open pit where they can burn off copper wire to sell, or...). Which they almost certainly would do if it wasn't explicitly forbidden by the HOA. Because, in case I didn't mention it previously, people are awful. I live in an HOA, too. People just ignore the stupid rules. As with most things, rules are 2D, life is 3D. Be a good neighbor, friendly, helpful, and do as you damn well please. Don't start no shit, won't BE no shit. I not only have 3 dogs (max is 2), but the last one we got is a pit (banned as a 'vicious breed'). All 3 are rescues, all get along with the 5 kids GREAT.
We get by OK with the neighbors, who all have their own... Quirks. A few are Army grunts, some firefighters, some marital infidelity. Like living on base, kinda. But the same advice gets me through all of it:
Be polite.
Be professional.
Have a plan to kill everyone you meet...
Remember, a garbage man rarely rejects well-bagged trash under 20lbs. The trick is to keep critters out of raw meat, but a good trash can does wonders. Tip carts are ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.
And if your trash collection is automated, somebody has to REALLY screw the pooch to find your nastiness.
If there is anything more questionable than Imperial Sanitation, it would have to be merc sanitation

I'm lucky, I'm in suburbia, but get along with the neighbors. A few times a year, we'll trade eggs for his veggies, etc. And my coffee tasted like almonds this am... o.O
