I have such mixed thoughts on that. On one hand it's a private enterprise and she should be allowed to sell/not sell as she see's fit. On the other, religion is a protected class, as is national origin. Punishing an entire group because of the actions of a few isn't right either. Close to saying no Christians allowed because of the idiots at westboro.

Basically people are scared, all this stuff is freaking them out and they feel like they have to do something to protect themselves though. How would they tell the real extremists anyway? It's not like the 9/11 highjackers were wearing man-dresses and pleated skullcaps.

I think that's going to end with a huge lawsuit, and why I think it's also over ths top I don't personally see anything wrong with it. In my opinion, the Constitution protects people from discriminatory action by government, not individuals. Privately owned property is just that... Privaye property. I am of course free to choose not to patronize any establishment who's policies offend me. Not Uncle Nanny forcing little Timmy to play with people he doesn't like.

If it was only that simple - a quick look at the cake store who didn't want to sell cakes for gay weddings... or the proverbial "no blacks, whites, jews or smurfs allowed"...

If it was only that simple - a quick look at the cake store who didn't want to sell cakes for gay weddings... or the proverbial "no blacks, whites, jews or smurfs allowed"... Oh, I'm not under the mistaken impression that things will play out simply. Just so I can clarify my stance: The government isn't allowed to discriminate based on race, creed, color, religion, sexual orientation, ect. and I am 100% content with that. The machine of government should be impartial and blind to such things, allowing it to (at least in theory) be a neutral party. By extension, anything or anything receiving government funding should be likewise restrained against discrimination. Get a grant, contract with the US government, etc then you are to be held to the same standards, Private property, including any businesses that derive no funding from he US government should only have to answer to their shareholders, market pressure, and their conscience. Yes, it would likely result in some business owners denying service based on prejudice, but then the public at large would know about it and could choose to do business elsewhere. Forcing a private business owner to violate their personal beliefs (no matter how repugnant) is as much a violation of their rights as would be the government denying you your rights based on your political or religious beliefs. Making bigots hide their bigotry doesn't change their opinions. It just means you don't know who they are. *edited to add* I'm not sure the range owner's action goes all the way into bigotry territory. While not all Muslims are extremists , I've been living in an overwhelming majority Muslim population in a country which is Islamic by law. Let's just say that the majority of people I encounter I wouldn't let into my home and frankly wouldn't want knowing where I live. Duplicity, deceitfulness, cruelty, arrogance, and bigotry....correlation may not be causation but if I had to make a gut check I'd certainly associate this particular religion with terrorism and violence. I've no problem with faiths other than my own, I could care less if your Buddist, Bahai, Jewish, Christian, Pagan, Anamistic, or pray to the Flying Spagetti Monster. I don't care. But if you and the other members of your faith decide that your's is the "One True Way" and as such justifies cramming it down everyone else's throats or killing them then I have no issue with anyone out there beating you to the punch, and my heartfelt sympathy to the poor unfortunates caught in the crossfire.

Oh, dont get me wrong - I'm in agreement, it's privite property, she should be able to decide herself what she wants, but we all know big brother will involve himself.
