Push th e flids but don't sweat the brown piss if it's only teh first couple of days. Happens all the time to new guys over here due to the heat...it's hard to force yourself to drink enough water while you're getting acclimated.
Really, if you haven't formally pulled the plug kepp at it for another week. You may very well discover you can do it despite your doubts and discomfort.

The brown piss wasn't a big deal. The all night fever shakes was the problem. I payed for the academy myself. I have no attachment to any agency. I have already pulled the plug. I will get in better shape and try it again. Sorry for disappointing everyone.

I bet you could have. Will you get more out of the academy if you get in better shape and give it another shot? Most definitely. The goal is to EXCEL, not just survive. I never was much for the pre-boot camp advice of "Just blend in, stay in the middle, don't let anybody notice you..." etc. Fuck that. At Parris Island I was killing myself trying to be first at everything or be legendary for my epic failed attempt. I was totally 'that guy'. Same with our fire academy, and pretty much anything else I've tried*. So, now you know the inside scoop and you can train specifically for it. And when you go at it again, it will be a welcome challenge, not a 'What the fuck have I done!!' You'll come out the other side as a better officer, no doubt. *In all honesty, when I went thought the MCIWS school (USMC Water survival instructor) I was barely hanging on by my fingertips, each second I was there. I was routinely in the middle 1/2 or last 1/3 of the pack on our swim conditioning, group PT, etc. Still, I was leaving it all out there, and wasn't getting much grief from the instructors because they could tell that my slow-ass pace wasn't because I was lollygagging. I think all the time I spent puking up pool and seawater was a giveaway...

ALSO, finished my 200 squats "final exam" today. That's 1, 200 rep set of bodyweight squats, straight through, no rest. Got a little spicy towards the end, but finished in good form. Averaged about 1 squat/second. My fire station workout buddy can't wait for me to leave on my trip so he can quit doing so much leg work...

Hey, it can't be easy finishing the Air Force final PT test ahead of everybody else in your flight. 8 bent-knee pushups and a 100 yard treadmill walk is nothing to sneeze at!OH YEAH! I just went all inter-service rivalry on yo shit! Seriously, though, honor grad finish is awesome.

It's wasn't so bad the first one but then I got honor grad in tech. 2 devices, oh, it was endless mockery. I blew everyone away on the run, sit ups, push ups, evrthang. Spotless wall locker, smashed inspections, just wasn't that hard.

Redeyes I don't think you disappointed anyone, sounds like you gave it your best. Even if you had been able to tough it out sometimes you just gotta listen to your body. As a young lass (lol) back in '08 I was in recruit training for the Marines in the lovely southern California heat of summer for about 5-6 wks prior to aggravating an old shoulder injury and getting separated administratively, so I can relate to the brutal PT and can tell you from first hand experience don't push your body to its breaking point. I have a lifelong injury because of it.
I think a mental and physical regroup is all you need and next time around you'll kick that courses ass.
For me personally I can strength train all day but cardio is hell on earth. Maybe some running and leaning out (I literally have no idea what you look like/body type. Just a suggestion) would be enough to get you through the class.
Just don't be too hard on yourself, its no biggie really.

I ain't yo daddy and you ain't my kin - well, no promises on that last, there was this wild night in MD that I, well, nevermind... - so AFAIC there's no disappointment from any of the hard MFer's on this board that are still rooting for you. Yes we're busting chops, but I have yet to see anyone blatantly come down on you for calling it quits, *female anatomy or infant feline, your choice*. On a completely selfish level, that means that I'll hopefully be seeing more BJJ updates which I do find entertaining and exciting. Carry on.

That just doesn't sound right. Well, Air Farce I guess. You guys still get hardship pay for staying in Motel 6?

Next time, see if you can schedule the course in the winter months. PT in humid summer heat is oh so much worse than in winter. Or pick the fall if they offer it. Just not in the peak of summer.

Truth. My short stay at Ft. McCellan was done over Jan-Mar, and while there were a ton of folks all balled up in sweats and shivering this WI boy was loving life in shorts and a t-shirt for am PT/run. I was laughing, folks where actually warming up their cars before driving them on post in the morning and it was like 40F. My bestie from HS did Lost in the Woods over the winter rotation also, he was smilin' too. I think it took me 3 years in ELP before I could tolerate hot weather. I think it would be harder now than back in my 20's, honestly.

2 hrs in the gym tonight. 45 squats on the land mine. 30 dips. 45 minutes boxing instruction. Taught grappling for 50 minutes; throws, slips, and mounting.
Then 3 1 minute matches. Fast, furious and I won all three. Took a lick in the eye for my trouble.
