Ok, I had someone call me tinfoil for suggesting this is an planned and designed event. I suggested these two facts:
1. There is wide spread media outlets in S. America reporting the loophole in the law and it should be exploited. 2. There are at least 65,000 kids that have shown up, more daily. The Border Patrol is overwhelmed. I don't know about y'all but it's extraordinarily difficult to get a handful of folks to do something let alone 65k. There is some sort of organization behind this.

You have a point and its not like central America just got shitty its been like that for a while so that justification is a moot point.
I think the cartels are capitalizing on this opportunity for them and there was def organization on the regimes part. Jobs to manage these kids were posted before this blew up. Everything we have seen from this admin does not lend itself to believing this was planning or foresight but more likely a manufactured crisis to press the issue. Fortunately it looks like this is backfiring though.

It's a soft invasion. Strategically brilliant and exponentially more effective due to our country's ineptitude and/or collusion. Just wait until this disease-ridden politically-sensitive vanguard transforms from "undocumented" booger-pickers to refugees. Our government is failing us.

This is from my reading this week for my HLS805 class:
"In June 2009, The Washington Times released details of an al-Qaeda recruitment video. In the video, Kuwaiti dissident and al-Qaeda ideologue, Abdullah al-Nafisi highlighted the potential of using the U.S.-Mexico border as a means for smuggling chemical weapons to attack the U.S. He suggested that, “four pounds of anthrax…carried by a fighter through tunnels within a single hour if it is properly spread in population centers there…9/11 will be small change in comparison…One person, with the courage to carry four pounds of anthrax, will go to the White House lawn, and will spread this ‘confetti’ all over them, and then we’ll do these cries of joy. It will turn into a real celebration” (Carter, 2009). By February 2010, al-Nasifi, reiterated the strategic benefits and ease of WMD terrorism. Months after his video posting, al Nasifi again reiterated that a mere “four pounds of anthrax…carried by a fighter through tunnels from Mexico into the US are guaranteed to kill 330,000 Americans within a single hour if it is properly spread in population centers there…There is no need for airplanes, conspiracies, timings and so on. One person, with the courage to carry four pounds of anthrax, will go to the White House lawn, and will spread this confetti all over them…9/11 will be small change in comparison” (cited in Timmerman 2010)."
So, how's that for a head spinner?

I vote both 1 and 4.
There is no political will to do anything concrete at the Federal Level. The Dems are counting on the hispanic vote to keep them in office for the next 100 years, and the Pubs can't touch any type of immigration reform that doesn't involve lining tanks up on our southern border without alienating their hard-right primary voters. Ergo, nothing will be done.
Did I mention that I'm learning Spanish...?

So come to find out this is costing us $250 per kid per day. My math says that's $16 million per day.
Nope. Start immediately sending them home.

My wife just got her citizenship this year. It was a long and expensive endevour. Get in line. The law is the law. Open borders mean no borders. No borders, no nation. Sorry, sending your kids to America without parental guidance is so irresponsible. Send them back, we're not the ones being irresponsible. It's on them to take care of their kids. Tin foil hat, this is a soft attack intended to over whelm the system in place to handle underage unaccompanied kids. It's working too, it's also a soft attack meant to blacken the eye of the US. "Oh, look, they hate kids too!" My wife is still waiting on her visa. Worse, this influx of illegal immigrants has flooded the system and delayed the processing of her visa. That's not speculation on my part, I received notice through my attorney that her case has been shifted yet again to another processing location due to overload. Frankly I'm disgusted. It's taking us years to get her to the US through the legal method, but if she were from south of the US border I'd be able to bring her in illegally NOW.

I had similar issues with the INS. Annoying to say the least.
It took us about $5000 and 10 years. PITA.
