South Carolina Murder Suspects Captured in Baldwin County
wkrg.com/2016/09/29/south-carolina-murder-suspects-captured-in-baldwin-county/
Derrick Coleman and Antly Scott remain in the Baldwin County Jail awaiting a trip back to South Carolina to face murder charges. Four people were shot to death in their home in Holly Hill, South Carolina in July of 2015. A fifth victim, an 8-year-old boy, survived. More than a year later, authorities say they have the men responsible for a crime that rocked the community.
Earlier this week U.S. Marshals raided a house in Foley, twice in 24 hours, first taking Coleman into custody and returning to later to pick up Scott. A third suspect, Robert Bailey, was taken into custody in South Carolina.
All three men are charged with four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, robbery and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. “The motivation was robbery,” says Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell. “I won’t get into specifics but it had something to do with illegal drugs.” Coleman grew up in Baldwin County. He was severely injured in 2009 in a motorcycle crash. He routinely returned to his home county and he did just that earlier this month. On September 7th, Coleman was arrested in Fairhope for driving under the influence after a wreck on Greeno Road. Sources tell News Five, he returned to South Carolina after the wreck and returned a couple of weeks ago with Scott. Investigators from South Carolina were already on their way to Alabama at the same time Marshals were taking the two into custody. The sheriff called this one of the toughest investigations in his career and he says, it’s far from over. More arrests and more charges are expected.

Alabama teenager brutally beaten for supporting police
yellowhammernews.com/politics-2/alabama-teenager-brutally-beaten-supporting-police/Brian Ogle, a 17 year-old Alabama high school student, was beaten last Friday night after publishing several “Blue Lives Matter” posts on his Facebook page following the recent controversial police shootings. Ogle’s mother, Brandi Allen, now claims that what happened to her son was a hate crime.
"Not knowing if my son is going to make it to his 18th birthday this month, I don’t know if anybody can understand what that feels like,” Allen told ABC 33/40. Ogle is currently in critical condition. He has sustained both severe trauma to the head and a fractured skull. Allen alleges that her son was beaten in a parking lot because he made his pro-police posts on Facebook. Ogle made a series of posts supporting police officers after several of his classmates wore “Black Lives Matter” t-shirts to school.
Sylacauga PD reports that he was attacked by multiple people in a parking lot and then abandoned. While the police believe that the beating is a result of rising racial tensions at the school, they have found no evidence that Black Lives Matter contributed to the incident. “I want to see them in jail, this most certainly is a race issue, it’s a hate crime.” Allen said. “I want them punished to the fullest extent, to the fullest, my son could have lost his life. I won’t stop until they are punished.”
Over the weekend, authorities began an investigation, and conducted interviews of various family members and persons of interest. No arrests have been made at this time.

Hopefully they'll call out the National Guard for them, too.....I can only imagine the damage from of a clown riot.
'Clown Lives Matter' march planned for Oct. 15 in Arizona www.nbc26.com/news/national/clown-lives-matter-march-planned-for-oct-15TUCSON, Ariz. - Organizers in Arizona are planning a "Clown Lives Matter" march Oct. 15 in reaction to the recent spate of frightening incidents -- both real and imagined -- spread in the news and on social media.
The march will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in Tucson, Arizona. Attendees are invited to show up wearing full clown makeup or masks.
According to a flyer advertising the event, "this is a peaceful way to show clowns are not psycho killers. We want the public to feel safe, and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug!"

Professor: If people can protest the national anthem, guns should be allowed on campus www.washingtonpost.com/news/grade-point/wp/2016/10/11/professor-if-people-can-protest-the-national-anthem-guns-should-be-allowed-on-campus/East Carolina University professor Tracy Tuten said she had never been interested in guns and had never owned one, until she felt the need to protect herself when a student stalked her several years ago.
Now, the marketing professor wants to be able to carry a weapon at school and even said that she intends to practice her right to bear arms on campus — a violation of state law. North Carolina is one of 18 states that ban carrying a concealed weapon on college campuses.
Tuten began speaking of her Second Amendment rights about a week ago, when members of the university’s marching band kneeled during the national anthem to protest police shootings of African Americans. After the university’s chancellor issued a statement supporting the students’ right to express themselves, Tuten sent him an email saying she, too, will exercise her Second Amendment right to bear arms.
“If the university is going to allow people to break rules in the name of constitutional rights, all rights should be supported,” Tuten said in an email to The Washington Post. “This is where I come in…My argument is that the university should support all rights.”
The East Carolina University Police Department contacted Tuten to tell her that what she planned to do is illegal.
“While I can appreciate Dr. Tuten’s intent to bring attention to constitutional discussions, carrying a handgun on campus property in a manner in which she described is currently prohibited by state law,” Interim Police Chief Jason Sugg said in a statement, according to WNCT. “Based on the most recent information given to us, we are hopeful that Dr. Tuten has reconsidered her intended action.”
Tuten has since backed off from her original statements and hasn’t carried a gun on campus. She said she doesn’t want to break the law, but she’s started advocating to local and state representatives about allowing people to carry concealed weapons on college campuses in North Carolina.
The furor over constitutional rights at East Carolina University started on Oct. 1, when 19 members of the university’s marching band kneeled as the national anthem was being played during a football game. Fans responded by booing and spitting at the band members, who had to have a police escort when they left the game, according to the News & Observer. North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) also weighed in, calling the protest “extremely inappropriate.”
"They have every right to express their First Amendment rights outside the stadium,” but not on campus, McCrory said, the News & Observer reported.
In response to the East Carolina University protest, Chancellor Cecil Staton released a statement supporting their rights to free speech while also constraining future demonstrations if necessary.
“I will not tolerate the mistreatment of any student, and anyone who perpetrates such mistreatment will be dealt with swiftly,” Staton said. “However, when necessary, I will ensure that public safety is preserved and maintained for the benefit of all who are a part of our campus. The university has a responsibility, if necessary, to place reasonable constraints on the time, the place and the manner of expression or conduct, but within those constraints, the university respects and will defend that right.”
Former presidents of the university’s Black Student Union also have expressed their support for the band members, pointing to the school’s history of student-led protests and movements, WNCT reported.
Tuten disagreed that the protest falls within the students’ First Amendment rights, saying it happened while they were acting as university representatives during a university event.
“They could have chosen many ways to protest as individuals, but they did not,” Tuten said.

Anywhere, anyway those of us not living in N.C. can back her up? Even if it's just moral support?

This is a case for the NRA. But I will figure out her email addy and send a letter of support. It is a 6+ hour drive to ECU from here, a little too far for a physical show of support. (although I cringe as I write that)

(although I cringe as I write that) Seriously, it's not that hard. Academia is so open and sharing that they forget the rights of their staff. Took me 1 minute: www.ecu.edu/cs-bus/faculty/tutent.cfm

Man Dressed as Batman Is Chasing Off Frightening Clowns in North Englandwww.yahoo.com/movies/man-dressed-as-batman-is-chasing-off-frightening-clowns-in-north-england-165511813.htmlSeems the scary clown craze is not only in America. There is an issue with people dressing up and frightening people in England, but they pissed off the wrong person: Batman. Someone in Cumbria, located in North West England, has been chasing off those dressed as clowns in the hopes of making children feel safe, according to The Telegraph.
A photo of Batman in action and a video surfaced of the British Caped Crusader telling kids it’s safe. A group calling itself Cumbria Superheroes is behind the effort. According to The Telegraph, the group didn’t form to act as vigilantes so much as to reassure children there is nothing to be scared of concerning the clowns.
“As for you clowns, if you want to scare someone, why don’t you try and scare me,” the man dressed as Batman says in a video posted to Facebook. There has been numerous issues with the sudden clown craze in America, which has resulted in multiple arrests and clown costumes being banned from some schools for Halloween.
