No it didn't really make a difference, I get what he is trying to say he just came off like a racist ass saying it, especially by using one anecdote of him driving by the projects and propagating the "happy slave" myth.

Hm, that does sound bad. I will look into this some more when I have time. My su*****ions were aroused because many in the media don't like this guy. When they don't like someone and that person is white or close step 1 is to call them racist or sexist or some other ist. I guess they may be right this time. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
ETA Ok, I know what the word filter did. It edited a racial slur used against Hispanics beginning with an s and ending with a c. Trouble is it wasn't a racial slur. It was part of a larger word.

Exactly, even though what he said is pretty mild compared when you think of the double standard the media has on racism. They even gave Al Sharpton his own show on msnbc to say crap 10 times worse.
I was wondering what got censored, weird how it censors words within words like that.

Yeah, I knew something wasn't right here with him. Not only does he fail at citizenship he has no issue throwing another group under the bus based on skin color. Fail. Everyone is running away from this guy.

Bundy isn't sophisticated in any way, shape or form and he doesn't seem to realize that the media has an agenda as well. So it's easy for the media to frame what he said as 'racist'. Big shocker, many in the MSM make MSNBC look like the Tea Party.
I get what he was trying to say, he just said it poorly and he wasn't sensitive in the slightest. Today unless you kiss ass to minority groups and put in the proper disclaimers in politically correct fashion you're automatically some kind of racist monster.
People would do well to remember what generation this guy comes from. When my 93 year old grandmother was alive she used to refer to Blacks as 'colored' (as in a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People sort of way). She wasn't trying to be demeaning or rude (she seriously didn't have a mean bone in her body towards anyone, she was practically like Mother Teresa), that's genuinely what she thought Blacks or African Americans preferred to be called. In her generation it was.
She didn't get it when I tried to tell her that term wasn't exactly in vogue anymore, but she tried to remember to use the other more PC terms simply because she seriously didn't want to offend anyone, but occasionally she'd still slip up and people would look at her funny. I put this guys comments in the same general area, I don't think he's trying to be rude or particularly racist. I think he was just trying to use slavery as an poor analogy for government dependence and in today's society that's just generally not done since race relations kinda suck and the only people who are supposed to talk about slavery (the race card, can't leave home without it) are Black. :Shrug
Glenn Beck and others like him are fucking idiots and if I were Bundy I'd ask him to kindly not agree with me.
- Personally I vote to murder the word filter, I don't think this crew particularly needs it. I don't think anyone's going to be throwing out racial slurs anytime soon and if we get someone in the future that does we should just deal with it then.

Well, what say everyone, get rid of the word filter entirely?
Yeah, I can see the point he was trying to make and I don't believe in minority groups having special privledge in any regard or should be played too. He has a right to say it, I just don't agree slavery is better for anyone at all. I guess that's the part that bugs me the most, just the slavery aspect of it.
Not that govt. dependency is any better what so ever. It is the soft shackle. It takes power away from the individual, it's a hand up at best and not a life style for anyone.

I agree with getting rid of the filter, wielding the banhammer is all you need.

Ok, the filter is gone. Wow, y'all are a tought crowd. Well....If it worked well that would be one thing (I'd be with you then), but its picking letters out of words. No one's really going to be throwing that kind of thing out anyway (except maybe in quotes to describe some relevant news story where that sort of thing played a part).
