Lol, REI spec says it weighs 6lb 7oz, but UPS says it's a 4lb package. Is REI using helium in it's packing bags?

Nah, that's just the mailers and the associated paraphernalia that they include in the box - hot air rises and all that. Not nearly as bad as SportsmansGuide, though...

Yes, dousing lol. I wonder if I can have a base Talon custom made in grey to match my pack instead of black. In regards to new bags in general, you folks in other states are really fortunate to have REI, Cabelas, etc. where you can even try on packs. Here in south Florida, we don't have places like that to experiment with outdoor gear before we buy it. We have a lousy Bass Pro that seems mostly to cater to fishing, and a Take A Gander At Our Prices Mountain about an hour north. Sucks. I'd love to have an REI nearby. Your doing better than me. In Chas all we have are Dicks and Sports Authority (And a handful of overpriced cottage type shops). To hit a real one I have to go visit GM up in Cola for Sportsman's warehouse... There is a Bass pro in Myrtle beack though... blah...
