Brought my Noveske upper to compare with the BFPBG'Nar. Both are 16" 1/7's and then I just swapped uppers in the middle. So everything was the same, including the lower that they were fired on using the same trigger. The sights are obviously different (oh and I hate MBUS front sights) and the Noveske's a middy and the other has a carbine gas system. Range was a little over 50 yards (55-60 maybe) using Hornady 55 gr steel match BTHP for the video. Yeah, I know I stuck 6 rds in the first target instead of 5. Oh well. Ammo : Hornady 55 gr Match BTHP Federal 55 gr FMJ Wolf 55 gr FMJ (targets not pictured) 1st go 2nd run 2nd run Noveske 2nd run BFPBGNAR - 5th rd hole is hiding in the 'R' of Federal. Done. Since I'd never shot that PSA before I knew I'd have one rifle to sight in. Turned out that the Noveske's sights were off too. Initially the PSA shot over the silhouette targets right shoulder and then when I swapped them out the Noveske shot over the other shoulder. Sights got knocked or something. Both shot a little low for the test. But you get the point. I did a second video, but the way I handled the camera made me dizzy watching it and half of it was upside down as I thought the picture would automatically right itself (I thought wrong). So you'll have to settle for the pics from the second time around. Upper shot really well for how inexpensive it was to build. That Noveske cost 3 times as much. I've used paper plates as targets before, but never two over a silhouette. Felt like I was shooting a women with huge boobs on both her chest as well as her face. Mildly disturbing and a bit obscene.

Nice shooting. Did you give that spring a try? Good job on the upper build, GBM. So how much cash do you want to build me a 8" 300?

Yeah, threw it in midway through (about a 120 rds in) and it worked. Still want to try a heavy buffer, but it cycled great. No malfunctions with anything though.

Cool. Were you using a carbine buffer? I think H/H2 would work well, but depending on the gas port that may be too much for steel case to overcome and cycle.

Yeah, just a carbine buffer.
I was going to try springco's recommendation of going up until it doesn't cycle and then going down one just to fuck around with it.

Nice shooting. Did you give that spring a try? Good jobYou'd need the upfloat. uild, GBM. So how much cash do you want to build me a 8" 300? Lol, I do not charge to build. psa has barrels and bolts, it really depends on what you want. Youd need a free float tube.

I was thinking PSA stripped upper, 8" PTAC nitride barrel in 300, low pro gas block, pistol gas tube and some cheap FF 7" rail. Maybe a MI. I don't mind swapping my current bolt carrier over. Wanna do it on the cheap.

Ok, did some quick math, this is not in store prices, I'd have to check what's in-stock. Blem upper $50 $170 MI handguard/barrel nut 7" $80 8" barrel $10 gas tube $12 FA $12 Dust cover
Total: $334-ish if I can get this in-store it'd be 1.75% off. I get 10% then have to pay sales tax which is 8.25%. Still, a 8" 300 Blackout upper from anywhere else is a lot more. What's killing this one is the free float tube.

Wow, thanks for looking. That rail is a killer. Would a set of MOE handguards be an option like the build for Brownings nephew? Not sure how they attach with no FSB. I have zero experience with anything outside the standard delta ring and FSB set up.

A MOE won't fit on the 8" barrel, not enough real estate to mount a a FSB.
It would on a 10.5 however. We'd have to source a clamp on gas block. I'll look when I get home but I think I could build a 10.5" 300 Blkout with MOE and clamp on FSB for about $250ish, maybe less. I think I have another idea on a build. I need to be home to look because GUN R BADZ! and I can't surf the net at work.

Well that's shitty. Part of the appeal for me was the super short barrel, so I guess the FF is the best option. Will postpone the build a wee bit but Im trying to not make compromises on guns anymore, buy once cry once and all that. Pic thread! You guys have seen all my guns, guess Ill have to buy some more. Lower 1/3rd on my PA micro. Some USB portable battery packs from Wallys, 2 for $10. Saw the same ones on Amazon for $25. I think its a good addition to my preps, throw one in the glovebox and one with my EDC gear. Apparently its a lithium 18650 inside the housing.

I have zero experience with anything outside the standard delta ring and FSB set up. After doing free float on my last 3 builds, I will never go back. $170 seem kinda high for MI. Surf around for sales and deals, especially with the holidays coming up. Primary Arms has had some killer deals, lately.

They do seem nice. Aesthetically I like them, especially when run all the way to almost the muzzle. Figured I preferred a fixed FSB but am open to try new shit, Ill see if I can pick one up a bit cheaper.
