Few little upgrades to my BCM. Getting closer to my ideal set up. Magpul Paraclip. $10 and now I have a sling. My VCAS attached right to it now I can clip it into my endplate. Still deciding on a forward mounting solution but the standard swivel works in the meantime. Also has a locking tab. MOE SL grip. This is pretty similar to the K2 and is designed for short LOP guns like SBRs and pistols. The texturing is very aggressive without being abrasive, the grip angle is much better than the standard MOE, though one thing I don't like is no grip storage. I keep my ATF brace letter, optic battery, lube and ear pro in there :/ will have to figure something out.

Alright. Everything's together. This is the AR my nephew's getting. This is the BFPBGNAR (Black Friday Parts Box Gift Nephew AR . . . Pronounced 'BeefpobG'Narrrr'.) GBM bought the parts from PSA and assembled the upper for me for $138.57. New 16" M4A1 style 1/7 FN blem barrel on a PSA stripped upper and PSA FA-bolt cover-Delta ring etc etc while donating the MI gas block, Magpul fore-end and trading the YHM Flash hider from his parts box for my A2 one. He also gave my nephew 3 USGI mags (the box was rattling so I was like ' What's all this then?'. (Saved me some money, a buncha work and time). The total came out $437.57 (give or take a dollar) on my end for the complete gun so far if you're adding both the recent and years past purchases. Pretty cheap. Build specs : - CY6 lower stripped lower ($90 or $100 a few years ago). - PSA LPK and buffer tube ($58 on sale a few years ago). - Magpul stock and grip (I think it was $28-$30 on sale from DSG a few years ago). - PSA stripper upper, 16" 1/7 M4A1 style FN, ejection port cover-forward assist-delta ring all PSA ($138.57 on Black Friday). - Ares Armor BCG ($65 on Black Friday) . . . I have my spare BCM BCG in there right now til it gets here). •••• MI 'Same Plane' gas block, Magpul Fore-end given to my nephew by GBM and he swapped me the YHM Phantom for the A2. ••• I had a set of Magpul MBUS Flip Up Front and Rear Sights ($58 for both) and a RRA charging handle that I got for free in some deal laying in my parts box •• Parts still left to get : EagleTac T100C2 Mark II Tactical Cree Q5 220 Lumens LED flashlight on an Impact Weapons Components SMC 1' Light Mount-N-Slot. • I have a Vortex Strikefire RDS and mount I'll toss on there if I can find it, I think it's in the dreaded closet. • Gotta come up with a front sling swivel. I have a couple spare slings. • Will also test out that Sprinco Extra-Power buffer spring I traded AS556 in it and make that a part of it as well and just break down and buy a few others for mine.

That pronunciation is out of hand awesome. Jabba the Hutt would be proud. Killer job building a hella cheap rifle for a nephew that sounds well deserving! Pic thread and rules and all. Attachments:

Perfect. That spring is designed for a 16" carbine gas gun, hope it works for you. My blue Sprinco might be a little overpowered for my BCM, needs some more T&E. Cool gun for your nephew. I love those beat up looking USGI magazines, definitely my favorite magazines.

Those beat up mags were used operationally. I can guarantee they were used during shooting of islamo fascists. Probably a lot of them considering who gave them to me. Anywho, I put those in as a conversation starter of the Leo/mil only markings and the difference between us, them and our ways of life.

I've got 4 Colt magazines that are beat up like that and a few Okay Industries that were used in theater. Sometimes I look at them and wonder about where they've been and what they've seen. Was considering revamping them with Wolff springs, Magpul followers and ranger plates but I feel like Im betraying them somehow. Yes, Im a weirdo and personify my gear.

Ok, I'll do a range report when I get them out. Might be trip after next because I'm still toying with buffer/spring setup and want to use known good magazines for that. They do however all drop free in my two Anderson lowers and lock the bolt back when cycled manually. The fish scale texture on the grip is nice but the body doesn't feel as solid as Magpul, Lancer or even GI mags. Good amount of flex in the body and the feed lips move a lot with mild hand pressure. Follower says it's anti tilt, and may be, but when pressed down on the front it nosedives and instead of sticking down like a GI green follower it seems to just bind itself to a halt an inch or two into its downward travel through the body.
That said, I believe these mags will turn out to be durable and reliable otherwise I wouldn't have bought them. They're just a bit different than what Im used to. I've seen Kyle Lamb using them and read a lot of good reviews. I'm not super hard on gear anyway.
They also have a flush floor plate and sit and extract from mag pouches easily, which is a plus for me. Nod to the OG GI 30s there. For you ALICE lovers these mags actually fit three in the standard 3 magazine pouches. I've never seen any non GI mag do that so that's pretty cool to me.
These mags seat on a closed bolt fully loaded with 30 rounds in my gun, too.

Couple of sub-urban defensive rifles. 1x4 SWFA Classic. This scope is absolute BOMB. 100% WIN. REticle. Delicious. Illumination, it's a red diamond. Top is 100m, middle is 200m, and bottom is 300m. 0.10 dials.

Very, very nice rifles. Love pretty much everything about them. Gotta ask though, why the mag pull all the way up like that? Unless it's just for better grip/impact resistance instead of pulling from a pouch. Speaking of, I've been meaning to try Magpul L plates. I shall buy some.
