Why is it so hard to make a reasonably priced, reliable AR10? What with election season looming, I've got a desire to get a semi 308ish rifle that's optics ready and has comfortable controls but I don't want to put two house payments into it.
PSA (for all their wonkiness) is still the cheapest go to on the front - especially with the 18" kit on sale right now. I could get the upper/lower parts kit and the receiver for under eight bills, and all it would do would be punching paper and popping poodles/OMGoshBEAR. Could I do it with a bolt? Sure. But dang it they're comin' fer' muh gunz'!
Dang it PSA why you have to dangle low hanging questionable fruit in front of a cheap ass!

When I fly back to the states at the end of this month I'm going to swing by and offer to buy him dinner and suggest/beg he stretch teh action on that design to fit AR-10 lowers. All the unreliability issues I've seen or heard of with AR-10 platforms stem from the upper. This would give you AR-10/15Ergonomics, and the reliability (legendary) of the MAs-49. Keep your fingers crossed.

PSA AR-10s with the regular barrels are supposed to run fine. Than again, I've heard if from folks who don't shoot a lot.

I was doing some looking into the window dressing that everyone's going through to supposedly increase the reliability of their AR10's - DPMS is enlarging the ejection port and giving the bolt another plunger, a few others are massaging the ramps, another was changing the extractor design.. are they really that finicky? Granted I've not seen a lot of them running around up here, but the few I've seen have been steady with a slow fire you'd see at a range. Lowkey - A MAS/AR10 hybrid would be the shit. I'd be curious to see what the pricing ended up at.

The stainless all have issues. The general fixes are polish the ejector tube, put an AR15 black ring on the extractor and use magpul mags. Yes, each AR-10 is finicky. I'm pretty sure the Sig716 is good to go, they're releasing an improved model that's keymod and lighter by pounds. Should be haut. It's on my list to look at. The DPMS Gen II is from all reports running well. Midwest and Aero are supposed to run like looters to a CVS. Adams Arms is releasing a piston driven AR-10 for around $1000. I'd give it 3-6 months. I'm more leaning to the Aero. They're around $1500.

Any suggestions for a good sling to go on the two . 300 blackout SBRs I'll be building at the start of June? 8inch barrels. Oh, also open to suggestions for flash suppressors that will/can take a can later on down the road. Threaded, not QD cans.

You should all have these on your ARs. I'd suggest any quality tactical 2-point sling (Vickers, Ares, etc), especially if you intend to have your weapons slung while walking around for any amount of time. Single points, imo, are better suited for running guns-up.

3-6 months isn't bad, puts me a little closer to poodle season than I'd like, but it's not terrible. I will continue to wait and watch GBM (who's got a way better pulse on this stuff than I do) for the AR10 rush.
